Car hunting.. rx8?
My gf will be needing a new car in about 6-7 months. Some of the choices are RX8, WS6, GTP Comp G.
Speed isnt everything she needs, just a nice car that looks pretty nice, gets around town nicely, and has some toys, ect.
Reasons for RX8 - Looks nice, manual, lots of toys such as navi system, changer, ect.
WS6 - great looking, manual, lots of power, t tops, but not to many toys.
GTP Comp G - 4drs, big trunk, decent power, manualmatic (paddle shifters), looks decent, has Heads Up Display, decent stereo, and i know how to work with and mod 3800 motors so if she needs to run 13's for some reason thats not a problem...
Any qwirks or things i should know about of rx8's? Things to look for ect?
Thanks

WS6
04 Grand prix Comp G ... i would only get black..
Basically it would be like this most likely..
RX8 would stay stock.... since still very new car...
WS6 would get your "typical" mods probably... nothing fancy
CompG would get your typical 3800 mods. CAI, Exhaust, pully, LSD, headers, and PCM... cause thats me and those are easy to do, and if i had to drive it, i would need those things... not her..

don't know what those two model you mentioned are. But even not knowing what they are, I say go with the RX-8. Of all the cars in it's class th e8 is the best looking and has the best looking interior. From what I've read it has the most comforatable ride and is a little quiter than its competitors. Plus she can take some of her girl friends around and impress them.

RELIABILITY and RESELL VALUE
If someone offered me a free Pontiac asked me to pay the money for an RX8, I'd still take the Mazda.
You also need to drive the cars. I liked the RX-8 on paper, but fell in love after driving it. I compared it to a $35K Infiniti, and it was much more fun. I've also hear folks compare the RX8 to the $50K Mercedes coupe. You and your gf really need to drive the car.

I'd base it off maintenance for her. If she has to take care of it, the RX-8 may be a bad idea. You have to take care of the car, if she can't/won't it's a bad investment. Otherwise, the 8's the most fun car in the group to drive. Sounds like I know what you would get if you were her (GTP). They're fun, but they handle like a hog compared to the 8. Drive them, you'll agree. The WS6 has sick power, but I really think it's ugly and gets its styling cues from 80's rock hair bands. Real fast, but real ugly. If you don't care about looks and just a great engine, the WS6 is the way to go.
I think the Evo is one of the most practical cars... little pricey but if you're in the snow, you can't beat it.

the gtp is basically a last restort if we cant decide... she changes her own oil and brakes on her current car (Corolla, so thats why she needs a new car) GTP is basically a straight line runner when modded... and takes about $1200 in suspension work and baer brake kit to make it handle really well.. but to much $$$ for that...
its basically going to come down to what kind of pricing and insurance well get next year when we look... i know a TA will be cheaper in price, but insurance i dont know yet... we are both 23 with perfect driving records... probably by the time we get the car we will be married..
