Car Shut off By Itself...

I had the car parked in my driveway and the Idle dropped and shut off the car out of nowhere....I've taken the car in for the recall a week after I got it last year and it has been running fine since except for that shut off this weekend. The car is completely stock and it hasnt done it again since then, I dont know if I should take it in or not. I am taking it in on thursday for the brakes which are squeeling and they arent worn yet so I'm taking it for the TSB and for the Visor, I dont know if I should tell them about the shut off or not or am I making a big deal about it?

Did you get a CEL when it happend?

That happend to me one day and I had a Blinking CEL after it happend and I took it in.

They kept it for a few days and ever since it's been running fine. They ended up upgrading my computer and changing some settings on the car apparently.

It's worth looking into if you're already taking it in.

My car did this to me once.

I took it in, they reflashed it (again). and it never did it again.

My idle always recovers right before it dies, never had it just crap out on me like that.

Couple of questions:
Did you have your A/C on?
Had you been driving the car before hand or was this post start-up?
Have you had any hot-idle issues in the past, for example, slowly declining idle at red lights after a hard drive?

Id say if everything seems fine now not to worry about it. Unless you were getting conintuing problems or a CEL after I would just forget it.

BTW man, we still gotta get together one day so I can help you do your throttle body bypass and intake mods.

I had the A/C on I drove the car down the street and turned around because I left something at home and I havent had the idle drop or at least nothing alarming, maybe just a blip but nothing where it comes close to shutting off. Not even after an autocross.

This sounds familiar, especially with the AC on. What does this indicate?

So did I.

hence the "(again)"

I don't know how many reflashes there have been in the past year since I traded it in though.

Hope this works out for ya.
