huh, maybe my throttle body is toast as well.

it hunts for idle like crazy and will only settle down with a few light taps of the throttle.

Its possible, find another 8 owner to swap throttle bodys and see how yours runs after that.

Its extremely easy to install/ uninstall.

HOW DID THE throttle body get damaged???

hmmm this is beginning to make me wonder.. not that i think mine is messed up but what if it goes out.. im at 55K miles.. i always clean the throttle body.. is it the wiring or the motor that controls the valve butterfly looking thing>?

just curious..
do you have a catch can/breather? bypassed trottle body?
how did the tb look when it was out?

It is either the motor going out or the position sensor, which is actually a small electro magnet, going bad. I haven't had a chance to test things out yet.

It looked normal upon visual inspection of the air & coolant passanges and butterfly. A little black-ish buildup on the throttle plate but nothing unusual or to worry much about.

The coolant bypass mod was not done and I don't believe he had a catch can either.

Yea, I do NOT have the TBB mod or a catch can.

Speaking of which, I think I might do the TBB mod today since Im off

My car hunts for an idle speed when it is cold (sub 40 degrees) too.
