Don't take out the rain guards. They are there for a reason. The engine compartment probably breathes just fine without the extra 'speed holes'.

The need to breathe through hood scoops is mostly cosmetic in most cars, save for those with TMIC (e.g. STi).

The RX8's intake is through the nose, forward of the hood. Your idea would just get your engine wet.

It's pretty hard to see with pictures taken at night-time, but from what I see, it looks pretty nice. I think it would look MUCH better if the front center bumber "lip" or whatever one wants to call it, the area between the headlights, were of the same material--that way it would flow a bit better stylistically. That's just my opinion/preference--I do think it looks great, especially with yellow as I'm a Steelers fan...

Ok, I SO don't understand the need for a CF hood. The aluminum one is pretty light and it fits good.

But you don't get the cool looking, non-functional mega air vents in the stock hood

The fibre I had for dinner last night worked great this morning. No wind resistance, great aerodynamics, slipped through the wind like a rocket and no back splash.
I really feel better about Fibre now.

Hmm, maybe I can help In my opinion the the Carbon 5r (fiver?) hood would look a bit better if it was painted to match the rest of the car. ?

Laters!
