Carfax and warranty repairs

I've heard some conflicting stories from different people about carfaxes. I have seen probably 8-10 carfax reports over the years, and I have never seen any mention of warranty work by the dealer on any of them. However I've been told (via message boards) by a couple of people that they have seen reports with this type of information on them, and one with several listings like "in for repair". Has anyone else seen this? I would hate to think that the car fax reports on our cars would include times we went into the dealer for CELs that were eventually fixed by the gas cap recall, or to replace engine mounts while waiting on Mazda to release better mounts, or just the times to update our flashes. Any thoughts?

When I was looking for a used car I carfaxed a bunch of them. I don't know how it works now but back then they would give you a short free evaluation of the car. Then if you wanted more info you paid the $12 or so for a complete breakdown of the history of the car. Carfax always came up with some "issue" on every car i was looking at. Just out of curiosity I typed in the vin # of my car that I had since new. Never an accident, no real problems. Well carfax stated that my car had eight serious issues! I e-mailed them and asked for an explanation. All they did was credit my $12 back with no explanation. Just my experiance with carfax.

Don't put too much stock in a carfax report

Don't put too much stock in a carfax report unless you print it up yourself. When I got my 8 I saw many cars that had been wrecked (obvious damage, poor repairs). I was shown a clean carfax report on EVERY CAR, even one that had the front bumper hanging about 1 inch low on one side. Basically there is some way to scam this process. BEWARE........

its call using a run down shop usually chinese or mexican that takes in cash and don't report the small wrecks.

wow, thats kinda racist.

why point out the race of the people running the shop? its not usually this or that. i've seen small shops owned by many people.

please try to be less of a bigot from here on out.
