also clavius, my guess is that its just really flooded. i'd clean the spark plugs (if the alt and battery are ok) and see if it starts. my guess is that the spark plugs are so fouled they cant function.
Well they said it was "Severely Flooded" and they want me to shell out over 481.00 for new sparkplugs. I just told him I'd be looking for new plugs online. Got a set from AkinsRotary for 124.00 shipped to my door overnight (they where only $85'sh cost me extra for the overnight obviously).

After calling up Chrism he reminded me that there is a TSB for Hard Starts which I've been having lately, and its covered by warrenty. I've previously stated to this dealership about my hard starts (starts taking several seconds like 5 or more) all they told me is that they replaced the spark plugs and it should be fine.

Needless to say I'm kinda peeved atm about all this especialy after finding out how much these spark plugs actually cost. I know they have to make money but that kind of markup is seriously uncalled for! Oh and Rosenthal had 'em listed for 108.

Yeah for flooding!! Glad to hear it's only flooded and yes they are trying to hose you. It should be covered under warranty. They should also check and update you to the latest PCM flash for free as well.

It sounds like they were charging you plugs+markup+2 hours labor+markup+time to wipe ***+time to pick nose+time to discuss superbowl+time to sit there and say "yep that's a rotary."

WHEW!!! (or however the hell that's spelled...)
Glad to hear it was only a bad case of flooding and not anything more serious. Clavius: are they going to perform the Hard Start TSB?

Jedi, they ARE going to perform it since I just printed it up. Way the last few days have gone I am seriously going to unload on them if they jerk me around by the time I'm through I'll most likely have to be dragged out by my brother (who's a police officer btw ). I read the TSB and my VIN is within range and again its a previously recorded concern which obviously wasnt addressed correctly.

I'll have them pop my hood open and I'll check out the starter and if its the old one (N3H2 A) I'll most likely just blurt out "Fu**ing idiots.". After that well I'll be calling up Mazda themselves.. anyone have their number for me?

I'm relieved Mysql but at the same time I'm now pissed 'cause they are trying to slip me a mickey as the saying goes and have their way with me. Swear they should just put a astrix next to my name that says "Goes on the Internet, and knows his ****. If not can find people who do!". This is the same dealership that after I told them about the then upcoming recall, "there is no recall we know about this stuff months in advance.." and the same dealer that said "Oh dont worry about your CAT man its not your CAT.". I swear I should just move closer to another dealership.

So um.. what about that Mazda Number.. wher can I get it?

Chris have your phone turned on tomorrow haha..

Hmm.. I have to see if I have any engine bay shots that show the starter and possibly the label. If it hasnt been replaced before I got it I fully believe I have a solid case of going postal on them especially with the TSB as my Atomic Bomb.

ok, so what does it mean when the car has hard starts because lately mine has been doing ittoo.. and it really started doin that after their supposed recall... which made everything worse i believe. and then about 35% of the time, i goto start my car and i get a wonderful "CLICK" noise folowed by everything in my car dying. which basically leaves me stranded. and then today my stereo didnt even turn on.. im afraid to take it the dealership and tell them about because they are giong to do the usual oh its your "aftermarket" bolognia.. haha. i only have one aftermarket thing!!!

Lil Gato here is a link for you with the info you need.

http://www.finishlineperformance.com...48-06-1691.pdf

Pretty much read through it and make sure your Vin's are within range of both the starter and battery. You can easily obtain the build date through your CarFax report. From the sounds of what your describing sounds akin to what I went through and the hard starts yeah.. needless to say when your up to 5 seconds before the car starts to me something is amiss (though the dealer shall claim otherwise obviously).

Chris trust me I have a feeling your going to be needing a entire big rig full of the KY if they try to dick me around. Again I'm fed up and them trying to rob me of close to $500.00 is as the saying goes "last straw". My boss, mother, best friend, and my girlfriend all said the same thing "What the hell!!!" on the cost of the plugs. Well now I'm just getting ready to head back to my place to wait for UPS for my package from AkinsRotary. Those guys are awsome and yet again prove our website friggin' kicks ***!!!

Every time I hear one of these service horror stories I just have to shack my head. Please tell me Mazda is not as completely incompetent as I believe them to be.

Good call...........probably exactly what they were doing!

Glad it turned out to be just flooding, but now I gotta go read the rest of this thread and see if issues is really solved. I hadn't checked it in a day or two, and I'm behind!

Give'em hell.....but remember....if you do and then aren't with the car 100%, you open yourself up for further issues. Be smart aboout it.

I could be wrong, but this one sounds more like a weak battery issue or possible alternator based on what is decribed so far.
Get your battery checked!
Also, I belive the build date can be found on the tag on the drivers side door.

i had something hoked up to my car one day tha checked my battery voltage.. it said it was running like 14. somehting volts or whatever.. so my friend told me my battery was fine.
does anyone have an interstate battery? cause well i do, and that thing have corroded over and over and over... so much that i think that my cables have gone the small family business when wal-mart came around. but thanks for suggestions.. im going to take a look at the vin numbers.

The 14 volts says you charging system is ok, the battery needs to hold AMPS.

You can get a free current draw at some auto parts store.

Take the battery out and bring it in. Bring enough money for a new battery.
