lots of people have had that problem. just replace it or get a midpipe and you'll be good. you can also search for 'clogged cat' on here and see what others have to say.

yeah if you checked it and its your cat, your cat could be gone...they should replace it, another route is going catless youll never have to worry about that problem again...

if the replace it for free, you could go home, take it out, pick up a midpipe and swap it out. then save your cat for anytime you need it...thats what im doing

^It's different everywhere. My car failed emissions here in NC with the midpipe so, I had to reinstall my stock cat. If there is an engine light they are not supposed to inspect it.

His legacy did not last long....
Having a State cop mom doesnt mean you have the right to go Cat-Less.

How old are you again?? 5 ? stop bringing your mom up. jeeze.

You can say I emit green house gas everyday,

but what does that have to do with you going CAT-Less? plus why would you want to add more green house gas by going Cat-less?

Maybe you're used to the direct exhaust stream but sorry,I can't stand them, not even 15 minutes.

My FC came with Full Race exhaust, aww, I didnt even drive it for more than 1 hour cuz it smell so bad that its giving me a headache. So I just put it on jackstand, got a NEW CAT (and bunch of other stuff), took the RB Race Exhaust out, and put stock stuff back with new CAT, after working on it for almost 2 months, finally shes back on the ground today, w00t.

no funny smell, car is working. yay !

From time to time I seen people Cat-Less running around the city, I will tell them that "dude, Your exhaust freaking smells, put your cat back on" whenever possible (at red light, for example.)

you might not give a **** about going Cat-less, you love the sound, you love the extra hp it gives ya(not much), and you want to make sure your investment is worth while. but hmm, to me, you're hurting everything around you for your own selfish gain. grow up.

What don't you understand about catalytic converters releasing more greenhouse gases than straight pipes? They were invented for smog, not greenhouse gases.

My only comment in all this is that the guy is right about carbon monoxide - it is odorless and tasteless - why do you think we're supposed to have carbon monoxide monitors in our homes? Also, catalytic converters were required long before anyone was concerned about greenhouse gas emissions, and so I doubt they help that concern.

^ I know he was. I wasn't saying it because I didn't know, I was being sarcastic in that the information about Carbon Monoxide he posted is pretty much common knowledge.

Okay - sorry I didn't pick up on the sarcasm. But you know, I wonder if there is anyone on here who is an "expert" on what is produced by the cats - I believe they were originally to cut down on smog, but with new data/research, are they actually harming the environment more?

Really, it's 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. What I mean is, while created to reduce smog and reduce the harmful emissions and hydrocarbons, you're still left with CO2 which is supposedly causing Global Warming (amongst every other gas and it's mother). Which is why I was joking around earlier in the thread about killing off the cows (and other various animals) whose output of Methane also is contributing to Global Warming.

To me, if it's not one thing, it's another. And to get on someone for their preference in modifications (regardless of it being illegal or not) is silly. Because I'm sure everyone in here has never broken any laws. And to tattle on someone because they are cat-less, just goes to show that maybe people should focus their tattle-telling on more important shyte.

^ Exactly.

While there are many 'studies' on the benefits of a catalytic converter, there are just as many 'studies' to claim that they are no bueno. It's all a matter of what bandwagon you wanna jump on.

Whatever makes you sleep better at night. I know as a human being, I am doing my part to conserve. I only use things when I have to. Catalytic converter might put out carbon dioxide, but then it's no worse than you spilling out carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon. Heck, at least it's the less potent of the two. Rather than going into the personal attacks, I am just going to take a flyer on it. If you don't like what I say, don't read it. I am just stating facts. Removing catalytic converter is a federal offense, also you are damaging the environment. Lastly, your car is not going to be much quicker than before

From what I can tell, you grew up alright. You grew up to be another liberal hippy who likes to **** in other people's cheerios on a forum.

On a side note -
Sooo you're on this forum and you have an RX8. Yet, your concerned about the effects that going cat-less have on the environment. You, sir, are a hypocrite. If you're going to harp on others for polluting the environment, then you better be driving the most fuel efficient car on the market.
