Cell phone install
Here is a photo of my cell phone installation. It's a Motorola kit for the V60 series. It's a hands-free speakerphone with auto-answer (if you choose to use it). The Microphone I mounted on the steering column just ahead of the steering wheel (stick-on Velcro); the speaker is mounted on the left side of the floor just ahead of the driver's seat; the control box is under the driver's seat. It's convenient and doesn't get in the way, even though it looks like it in the pic.

Looks like a clean install - Kudos to you for equiping yourself with a hands-free setup. I keep my cellphone (Sony Ericcson T610) in my cup holder and wear a bluetooth enabled headset.

The construction of the RX8 made running the wires fairly easy, and the power was available right behind the fuse panel! Thanks Mazda, for making it relatively easy.

Nice install, Bob. I'll say this (and by all means don't take it as doom and gloom) - keep an eye on the velcro on the steering column. My father had a 2nd Gen RX-7 back in '86 that he tried the velcro route with his Passport radar detector. The sun baked it pretty badly and as a result turned the adhesive into a gummy mess. Granted, this was quite a while ago; and I'm sure products including adhesives improve with time (plus your mic hardly wieghs ANYTHING compared to a radar detector), but maybe it's something to check from time to time.
