center console heats up

hello all,
question i recently purchased a 2004 RX8 and I noticed that the center console heats up extremely fast and hot.
Anyone have the same issue or is it just something that happens
Thanks

Try it with a turbo stuffed down there....you could cook an egg on the passenger floor no problem.

My wife never complains about cold feet anymore

Thanks for the reply

If only I weren't in Arizona..LOL

One other thing..the low collant light comes on periodically.
Sometimes while drinving down the freeway then it goes out, sometimes right after starting and taking off.
Been check over and over and the resevoir is filled to the rim

Is it just me this doesnt seem normal.

The sensor is known to fail...the only fix is to buy a new bottle...or check your coolant level often.....

Synthetic transmission oil will help a little but heat soak is common with all sports cars.

isnt it cause you so close to the tranny that when the heat dissipates the only place to go is up where the console is?

Umm from my exp that is not normal b/c i had the same problem. i had mazda rebuild my tranny and afterwards it would get extremely hot after a few minutes almost so hot you couldnt touch it so i took it back and they said it was low on transmission fluid * i think thats what it was* anyways they fixed it and it doesnt ever get warm now.

Not true .. heat is subjective.

I would call it hot.

you notice the heat more because you are basically sitting next to the driveshaft and tranny. On regular cars, you sit above it so you never notice it. It is warm. Great in the winter. But summer..... not fun.
