Obviously it's just personal preference.

To me, the stock amber corners just don't look like they belong on "colorless" 8's (White, Black, and Grey).

LOL I must be bored tonight, I just added a poll... so vote away! lol
so did you do the rewire then so that they flash together?

in any case, i did the clears with stealth because i feel that the amber detracts from the flow of the nortic green. it just looks cleaner and the stealths still gives the amber requirements when they are on.

Rx8's are sold with clear corners in europe, but they weren't I would get them. Amber lenses on cars seem so dated here.

I agree with those who feel the amber doesn't go well with many colors. I have the clears on my Black Cherry Mica for that reason. For monochromatic colors like silver, black and especially Whitewater Pearl, like this one…

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/few-pics-my-buddies-white-rx-8-a-97476/

…I prefer the stock amber—which then becomes a cool looking "accent".

Not that i want to start anything but have a look at the varations, mine is the red corners, they used to be clear but then we put red vynal over them. I have to agree i love the clear and if i had some additional time and money i would get the stealth bulbs....the amber/orange just does not go well with the VR. now other colors it does look alright on. say black white etc. but if you are looking for a cleaner setup get the clears. IMO

I have clears and strakes on my 05 TiGrey and I think that they look great. The amber seemed to clash with the grey and black on the car.

P.S. i got the same tires on my 8

I have the ambers, i personally think that it goes well with the red, i think the clear would make you focus on the clear corner versus the amber which seems to blend better with the red paint job thus you're looking a the entire fender and car. For me personally, i think if i had the clears, my eyes would tend to focus on the clear first before looking at the rest of the car. Whereas, the amber, seems subtle that i'm overlooking it and i actually am focusing on the entire fender/car.

Besides, i think clears are overplayed IMO. Seems like its a sign for other ricers to rev on you or something. However, that being said, i think the clears do look good on silver and grey RX-8s. Lighter shades of the color don't seem to intefer with the clears. It works the opposite for me on silver and grey RX-8s... ....the amber seems to stick out as a sore thumb on those colored (silver/grey) cars....whereas the clears would blend better.

clear corners was the first mod to my VR. looks much better than that ambers IMO. but in the end it all comes down to personal taste.

I've got a white 8 and the clear corners were the first things I ordered. A must mod for all white owners IMHO.

$70 is really not much in terms of price, but it definitely improves the looks of the car. The amber turn signal sticks out like a sore thumb.

One day i was messing around with it and I got it to alternate blinks with the turn signal itself. For some reason it wont blink at the same time. But it is do-able to get the side marker to blink when signaling.

The amber corner is the first thing that is focused on when on a light colored car.

If you plan on adding the turn signal mod where the side marker flashes with the turn signals then the clear corner is a better option since it can be seen better from the side of the car.

I have the side marker mod done and am very happy with it.

When lights are off the side markers flash the same as the fronts.

When the parking lights are on they alternate back and forth between the front and the sides.

I have more courteous drivers when I am looking to change lanes now.

i only asked b/c it seemed as if this was an important part of making your decision as to whether or not to get clears.

I read somewhere (not this thread) that an LY looks pretty decent with the oem corners. I have clear corners on mine and absolutely love 'em.

I have them as well... with the stealth bulbs... also replaced front and rear blinkers with stealth bulbs... I personally like the look better... then again it's a simple opinion from one person to the next...

Notice the clears on the first yellow don't fit well.

I find this hard to swallow. How much is an MS nose? Also, given your list of mods (granted, most of them are performance mods - except for that shift ****, which I doubt was free), how big a dent is $70?

Not trying to be an ***...just saying...

The clear corners are a Mazda part and fit perfectly.

They are shaped different because in Japan and Europe they act as turn signals as well as side markers. The clear corners come out a little bit so that they can be seen better from the side of the car.

Not sure how many have noticed but in the U.S. the side markers do not blink from the factory.

I have seen first hand the difference in having the side marker as a blinker as opposed to not.

I used to get frustrated because the person next to me would not allow me to merge or would get upset because they thought I didn't use my signal. It wasn't because they were being ignorant but because if a person is driving next to the 8 it is hard to see the front turn signal from the side.

-The dark & bright contrast of the silvers and black look outstanding! The orange doesn't give it any more contrast or splash, it just looks messy and out of place. The clear corners not only get rid of that but also add to the B&W theme.
-The amber turn signals against the silver/chrome housings look like an egg yolk of a sunny side up egg. May taste good but doesn't look it. And worse since the housings of the turn signals are chrome, the amber bulbs reflect out at certain angles and make it more noticeable than just a tiny bulb. It sticks out like a sore thumb. No such problem with stealth bulbs.
-The same "egg yolk" effect applies to having the normal bulbs in clear corners. Stealth bulbs take care of that.

So in short I have stealth turn signal bulbs and clear corners with stealth bulbs in those as well. It looks a million times better.

I bought my car used and it had clears on it to begin with... I liked them but like Wing 5 I also like the blacked out theme.... See below:

Oh yeah I also removed the RX8 emblem and blacked out all the others.
