If it came with clear, we'd have people insisting upon getting the yellow light covers.
You are right in that this is a miniscule thing. I don't even notice it on my own vehicle, and the next time I get home I won't notice it again either. If I spot another RX8, my eyes automatically check for the spoiler package, but that's it. A long signature with 15 mods listed looks the same to me as another RX8. "short-shifter" installed is not very noticeable nor is "royal purple fluids".
Seems like RX8 drivers who do tinkering are very few. I haven't even heard an RX8 with aftermarket exhaust around here.

I just voted... ha ha, exactly 50/50!
I dont have them.. I was thinking YES, maybe they would look better...
I have a Copper Red, and when the sun hits the car it looks goes a brilliant copper orangy color, and the ambers blend in.
When its cloudy, they kind of stand out. I'd like to see a pic of a CR with them, in sun and shade, and then I will decide.
Anyone?

PS the MS nose was $1.4k shipped. That was money well spent despite being 20 clear corners. It will look great, will give more room for my IC, and replaces a bashed in standard nose that got lightly damaged in a very low speed impact. Do you see my point?
PPS. that momo shift **** was as performance related as anything else. It was a long process to get the one that was weighted well and felt good in my hand. Highly recommended. When I see the clear corners I just dont see any benefit at all.

Oh and to the Auburn Grad with the blue with amber corners.

I noticed that there was a weird current of clear cornerism with rx8club also. Since the RX-8 for me is functioning as a sports car, I only pick mods for it that would have a performance impact. I suppose if I had another car that functioned a as daily driver or grocery getter I might be interested in appearance mods for that car, but the RX-8 stuff will be purely functional. So no, I don't have them.

I have a wb and I just put the clear corners on a few weeks ago. I didn't like the way the orange looked on the blue. the different size bothered me when I first put them on, but now I like them.

If the yellows dont "match up" (and I cant immagine why they wouldnt) maybe I will change my mind, but I dont think so.
I also felt that undercurrent of weird "you gotta have 'em" trendyness in this forum for the clears. I never understood that. Perhaps I am rebelling? It wouldn't be the first time. And it saves me $70.

4 years to Supercharge is correct, the reason that the clears are a different shape and have a reflector in them is because in all other markets they are used as side repeaters. The reflector (that most of us have removed) shines the light back along the side of the car so that other cars beside you can see the signal better. If you see pics of RX-8s from Europe or Japan with their lights on, you'll notice that the corners are not lit... they are only useds as signals, not as marker lights.
The US is the only place that requires an amber marker light / reflector and doesn't require a side repeater. Stupid. Anyone that lives in an urban area that has roads and highways with more than one lane knows that a side signal seems a much safer use of that light than just an always on marker.
I have clears, I have not converted them to signal lights yet, but plan to.

$25 is a worthy price if you like that sort of thing IMO.

I had cc's on my 8 (alas, I sold them) but have them on my Z now. Both cars are blue. To me, blue and orange doesn't look good. White and blue does look good. Also, I used PIAA hyper white bulbs inside my 8's corners (although I had the Stealth Bubls) so it wouldn't look off at all and it also matched my HIDs. I beleive the only "colors" comming off a car should be white (front) and red (rear). Anything else makes the car's lumination look too busy and "stop-light'ish." As soon as I figure out how to "red-out" the rear blinkers on my Z without losing my reverse lights, I will do those as well. JDM, USDM, USDA, blah! Clean is clean. I don't care for labels, trends, or floss-factors. I just want my **** to match and look clean! If my car was orange, I'd keep them amber.
In California, the law states that the front turn signals MUST be EITHER white or natural amber. Since we have a choice, here in Cali, I chose to go with white! Rear turnsignals must be red or natural amber...you know where I'm going with this...
