But...post a close up picture so I can check them out in detail.

The members of this forum represent a very small minority of RX-8 owners. 99% of the RX-8s I see on the road have the stock amber side markers. I don't think they look bad at all, even on my Titanium. I agree that the clear corners look a bit better, but the amber markers look "normal" rather than customized or "ricey" (some people have a very loose interpretation of "rice" and associate any noticeable modification to the exterior as rice, but this is another discussion in itself). I mentioned the possibility of changing to clear side markers to members of my family and in-laws who are not car enthusiasts, and they all thought it was silly, i.e. a "ricey" thing to do. To each his own I guess. I know I went through my "rice" phase with the blackouts and such during my late teenage years... looking back it seems so ridiculous.

The difference is this is a minor change, many cars today have clear corner with amber bulbs in them. For example, BMW started using them on their "sport" models, I know this cause it's in the picture right above ____^ And because my fathers car has clear corners (stock) on his BMW 330. Blacked out lights were a fad, and never appeared stock on any car (to my knowledge), whereas clear corner lights have taken off and seem to be the standard among many enthusiast car makers.
I understand where you're coming from, I'm just pointing out that this isn't something that the "rice" market has come out with to be cool, it's simply a style that many cars now employ.

I like the look of the clears and I'd do it if I thought I'd pass the very harsh anual inspections here in MA. I'm not really up for the idea of re-doing this mod twice a year to pass inspection but that's just me. Besides I'm not sure how I feel about it on Silver, I'd like to see it. I do think the amber sticks out a bit but it doesn't really bother me much.

I vouch on the original statement concerning clear corners; I myself have a Titanium, and I had the clear corners sitting in my garage even before I purchased the 8 lol. I think the orange lenses look proper on orange cars and JDM-style Hondas, and maybe s13s IMO.

I'd like to have yellow corners to match the lightning yellow. I've toyed with the idea of finding some big honking yellow reflectors at a junkyard and milling/sanding/polishing them down to fit but that's a heck of a lot of work. The other option would be to somehow dye the clear ones.
