Clutch Longevity Poll
I haven't seen one of these (and yes, I did search before posting this) and thought I'd gather some input. My car rolled over 60K miles last week and I've been thinking about long-term ownership. I'm thinking it would be beneficial to all to get a general idea of what to expect.

I bought my 04 used at 22000 miles and the clutch and transmission went at 30k. I have been driving stick shift cars all my life. Maybe the previous owner was doing 9k clutch bombs before he sold it. I have 50k on it now and its a dream the tranny feels like new and the clutch is good but you can't tell those until they die.
My last car had over 100k on it and the clutch was still good.

yeah ive been very surprised at how well the clutch holds up in ppls cars. ive replaced 2 MT engines so far both around 40k and the clutches were perfect!
im at 35 right now and it grabs just a tad higher than stock but still feels great. at my rate id be happy to see 75k or so.

I'm at 40k miles and still using stock clutch. Learned stick in this car. May end up replacing the clutch and flywheel before it even gives out at this point cuz i'm getting a turbo. we'll see.

i have an 04 with the original clutch. I currently have 56,xxx miles on my car and the clutch is still going strong. I have an odd squeak that comes from the clutch pedal, but since my car is under warranty still, i think ill take it in one of these days to see whats the problem.
this is my first standard car and im surprised the clutch is still going today. Maybe ill need to replace it around the 85k mark with an after market set up

77K on my 04 with original clutch. Said it before, have only had manuals all my life only replaced one clutch in time I've owned them. Currently have an SUV over 150K with original and had a Camry with original clutch close to 220K when I donated it to charity.
Most that I have heard is a friend of mine with a 93 Accord, now at 350K plus with original clutch...he said around 250K it got a little grabby but it kind of healed itself.

2004 with 30k miles and original clutch.. should have been a poll option for original clutch. would have been a better option than 180k+ as probably no one has that on their car yet? if so, that would average about 45,000+ miles per year

Usage will have a lot to do with the mileage of replacement. A car driven in NYC cannot expect to have nearly the clutch life of a car that commutes 80 miles a day on an open highway.

i bought mine used at 17k and lately when the engine/tranny is hot (1hr of driving) the clutch seems to "skip"/"chatter" when starting in 1st. I'm a little worried... this is my first manual but I know how to drive...any ideas?
