Unless it's the switch that's causing the problem...
Broke clutch pedal is a concern, it's just not as common as this board makes it out to be, I mean if it is, I don't think it would've taken them 5 years to begin to investigate on this issue regarding recalls.
This board is full of information, so much so that sometimes it creates unnecessary paranoia among us 8 owners.

Don't get me wrong, the clutch pedal bracket design is flawed to begin with.
But not so flawed that you have to purchase an aftermarket part just so it can take the daily average wear and tear. If you put everything you've got into the clutch pedal every time you shift, then by all means go out and purchase the reinforcement kit or a car with extremely heavy clutch that you have to use enormous force to press like the 350z.
RX-8's clutch pedal is the most effortless pedal to depress I've ever encountered on a sports car.

well, wired thing...when i drive it today, the squeak seems to be gone (it is cold in the morning, about 35F)
but it was definitely there when I drove last sunday
hmm...can temperature has anything to do with it?

I know this is an old thread but I read through it on my search for a solution to my issue.. I thought it was the clutch master making my squeak because sitting in the drivers seat it sounded like pin point left front upper firewall and I could feel it in my foot.. well I rebuilt the cylinder and installed it and again with the squeak.. got the girlfriend in the drivers seat and it is the clutch fork or the pivot.. hope this helps if someone is randomly looking for "the squeak"
