co-signer wants me to give the car back

You can't get a new Civic for 14K and I can't believe you're 23 and can't get financed for 14K on your own without a co-signer assuming you have some kind of credit card history at all. I bought my RX-8 new in 06 @ 23 y/o without a co-signer and got 5.5% financing from Mazda USA. You should be out of college for a year or so and even if you make 30K you should be able to finance 14K over 4-5 years.

Only because the OP was asking for our opinion on the situation yet when we gave it he got all defensive and started telling everyone he is this and that but really if he were established as he claims he was getting this car would be no problem. What I don't understand is why ask for our opinion on a situation yet when we give one that you don't agree with you have to attack our crediability? Like you did with NY's. I am glad you returned the 8 so you can go start bother the Civic Nation. That is it I am out

I think that if you're at the age of 23 you're able to make your own decisions. If you're going to make the payments every month and take responsibility when your warranty expires then all she did was put her name on a piece of paper.
Though paying $20k for an 8 with 50k miles is pretty insane. I got my 2005 with 29k miles in December for $18k.

OOOO... I see... So I guess he took it back? Whats the deal with you guys blowing up engines?! I have an 04 MT which seems to be the one notorious for blowing up... I have over 112K on my original engine. I guess I just need to teach some of you how to drive.... The trick is to let it warm up, then drive it like you stole it

I used to sell cars for a big dealership here in florida. If you want any advice on getting the best deal, i'd be glad to help. Just PM me. For a small fee, I'll even go to the dealer with you to negotiate your deal.

Of the wood I carry around or the spoiler? LOL JK
Its just the OEM spoiler... I didnt want one when I first got the car and then decided at BOTD that I do like it... I just bought gr3ddy's, had it painted and put on... Nothing fancy or rice, just plain ole OEM.

I have a son 23, he's married and is working hard to make his apartment rent and all the other required monthly payments. I can't imagine co-signing with him. The obligations of the co-signer are too much. If you fault in your payments then the bad credit will show up on her records. She has every right to voice her opinion and if she doesn't agree with what you are doing then you must abide by her wishes, no matter how you feel about th car.
My advice to you would be to get credit as mentioned previously and purchase what you can afford without your mothers help, even if it's a used 250cc scooter!
EDIT:
I didn't read the whole thread... lol... My advice still stands for anyone in this situation.
