Cobb Accessport universal?
Hi this may be a stupid question but here it goes.
Does any Accessport for for the rx8 or is there a specific one for the rx8?
I ask because there is a person in my area who is selling one and i may buy it.

The cobb base tunes are no good. And a tune that worked well on one car isn't always the best for another.

okay thank you for clearing that up. which means that if i were to get one it would be from MM. but regarding the accessport calibration service, i believe it is remotely done.

As long as the accessPORT is for an RX8 then it will contain all of the supported RX8 ROMs for the car. You'll just want to make sure you perform all the firmware updates on the device before installing.
If you have no experience tuning cars then I would highly suggest Mazdamaniac's tuning service. The process it done entirely over email. Provided you can follow simple instructions it's a pretty easy process.
As for gains from the AP, you'll want to check out the various COBB threads as there is a lot of discussion there. The gains vary between cars because there are about 4 or 5 variations of RX8 performance. It also depends on your engine health, whether your ignition coils are operating correctly and what kind of modifications you have.
The benefits go beyond power gains however.
