Color, are you happy with it?

Color, are you happy with it?
Right now I'm kinda stuck as to which color I should get. I know its a personal decision but, I'm having a hard time picking the one I really like.
I'd have to say Red is the color that drew me to the car, then again its there flagship as well. I've never owned a red car so I'm asking all of you out there that have red, do wish you got something else?
Is red a color that gets tiring after a few years?
Right now I have a black vehicle and have owned that for 10 years. I really like black but, have not really seen that mainly black pics of the vehicle nor any black RX8's either. Fr om what I have seen in pics, it seems to hide the contrasts of the vehicle and its lines as well. Correct me if I'm wrong and please post some pics too.
Titanium is also really nice and started to grow on me, but then again I get that feeling of hey, this is a sports car, so get a sports car color. So it brings me back to red.
Silver is also very nice, and it does match the rims and the contrast well. I'm a bit undecided on this but, doesn't appeal as much as the red, black or titanium.
I guess I ruled the remaining colors out.
This would be my first sports car and vehicle in 10 years. I had a little minitruck since I was in high school. Nice to not have any payments so I can be debt free to purchase this car. I'm not asking for anyone to make a decision for me , but I just want different perspectives about this topic. Thanks.

i have had 5 red cars. a VW beetle back in college, 1976 grand prix, 1988 MR2, 1997 Eclipse and now my RX-8. i have no regrets getting a red 8 and i even have the red/black interior which i like alot. the silver is also very nice as is the titanium.

Best thing to do is see all the colors in person and then decide. I know this helped me decide which color I wanted. Cars tend to look a lot different in person then in any pictures.

I bought red, mainly because my wife liked it a great deal, I liked it a fair amount, and it was the only sport package I could find locally. I kinda wish I had held out for blue or yellow, because I do think I prefer those colors. However, the red is really striking and I am not unhappy with it, it's just a matter of maybe liking the other two a little better. Everyone who comments on the car seems quite impressed with how rich the red is. Here's a photo, which I saturated a little bit to bring out how it looks in person.

I have silver and really like it. The titanium is really cool and the red is brilliant. Saw a yellow one at my dealer today and it is really cool but personally I couldn't live with a yellow car...My Rx-7 is White and if the 8 came in White I'd probably gone with that color. I've even thought about down the road getting mine painted white as I've seen some pics of custom white jobs and really really like it....my pic is to your left...but there is more girl than car but you get the idea :D

If it was not so hard to keep it looking clean & polished, I would have gotten black.

I have had the same delima, and I keep changing my mind.
Blue - Flashy, sports car color
Titanium - Classy look, sort of a trendy color these days.
Silver - Very sharp, shows off car well. Lots of Silver cars on road, but sets itself off by being a touch lighter.
Black - good looking, but "hides" some of the curves. Hard to keep clean
Nordic Green - see black.
Red - Not for me
Yellow - Not for me.
Right now, I am waffling between blue and Titanium. Was leaning toward Titanium and drove by the dealership at lunch (didnt stop). Didn't see a Titanium, but saw a blue one out front. Now I am leaning to Blue.
Wahoo!

If you can't decide between colors you really need to seem them on the car in person. Walk around the car; sit in it, etc. for each color. Let it sink in.
No question for me - this car was made for Yellow :D Hoping to get a custom interior with yellow leather inserts in the same manner as the red/black. If it works out I'll post pics of my "bumblebee"

My color is silver and I have to say it helps to keep the car looking clean all of the time. Always nice. I also would have gone with white, if available. I used to own a white RX7 convertible (one of my favorite cars of all time.)
Red will bring lots of "looks", expecially from those eyes that write speeding tickets. I won't own one. I have friends who are cops and they tell me "Don't buy a red car!"
For me, I might have gone with the blue color and that would have been the most flashy car I ever owned. On the other hand, I think the silver has a classy look. I am a 51 year old professional and I like "nice", not "flash". (At least not an overstated flash, but again, I'm 51... what do I know?)
The black version will always look like it needs a cleaning. A scratch will produce a white line. (Same for the green and charcoal grey - err, Titanium.)
Yellow? Yellow!?! You got to be someone who wants attention or be the type that colors their hair orange or purple. Just kidding. On the other hand, yellow is a pretty bold color.
Yup, silver is okay with me. Understated classic look with the utility of always looking clean without constant effort.

Color is a very personal choice, but there are some practical aspects that are worth thinking about, especially since you're in sunny Florida.
Dark colors get hotter in the sun. I had a black car which would melt plastic things like CD cases and the steering wheel would get too hot to hold sometimes. I had to run the AC continually in the summer.
Also, dark colors show dust, dirt and swirl marks in the paint much more than lighter colors. I had a beige metallic car before getting my Nordic Green 8 (I live in Seattle, so heat isn't an issue!) and my friends referred to it as "dirt colored". That was very convenient because it didn't look bad when it was dirty. My black car always looked dirty even after I'd detailed it! Looked awesome in the dealership though!
Finally, visibility. Dark cars are harder for other people to see. There's probably some accident statistic about this. I'm always wary of people pulling out in front of me because my Nordic Green looks almost black in some lights. The other downside is that hardly anyone seems to notice my RX-8, the color doesn't stand out on the road. It gets a lot more attention in slow traffic or when parked than when I'm driving (ummm...but maybe that's because I'm usually driving it at warp 10!)
When I got the brochure for the RX-8 in the mail I thought "well these colors suck!" It wasn't until I saw them on the cars that I found out that they're all very good colors. I'd be happy with any color except yellow (sorry Nubo! It looks good on a Miata, not convinced about on an RX-8. Got to say I like your wasp idea tho'). I don't normally like red, but the RX-8 red is really nice because of the mica flecks in the paint.
Go to a dealer, look at the colors and decide which you think the car looks best in. Then go and agonize about the seat colors. Damn, another choice!

in all honesty, you cant go wrong with any of the colors, they are all beautiful colors and look really nice on the car.
i have a winning blue, its a gorgeous color, thought i know thats not on your list. That aside, i couldnt be happier with the color.
you seem to want the red most, i would go with that, you will definately not be dissapointed. its a rare color and looks very handsome on the car. go to a dealership and look around, they will prob have most of the colors you are thinking about somewhere on the lot. take a look and see what you like the most.

I can't agree more - the best advice you can get is to make sure you see all the colors in person before you decide. I was agonizing for weeks over "Titanium or Blue". They are both so gorgeous, but I hadn't seen a blue one anywhere, just in pictures. As soon as I saw the blue in person, I knew that's what I had to get. That's when it hits you and the decision is made.
I must also agree that ALL the colors are great on this car. I normally don't like Red, but this red is great! I would never consider red on any other car, but it was actually on my short list on the RX-8.
Good luck and let us know what you decide!

Here is my take on the ones I've seen
Velocity Red - in dull conditions a deep marron, but under sunlight catches fire to turn a brilliant red with almost orange high lights.
Winning Blue - a hundred different shades of blue all at once
Titanium Grey - fantastic understated colour tinted by the sky, makes the car look very solid.
Sunlight Silver - shows off the lines the best, makes the car look very sleek.
Brilliant black - sooooo shiny it hurts - but only if you wash it every day.
Nordic Greem - (haven't seen it yet).
Yellow - No!
Cheers

Having previously owned a red sports car, with the tickets to prove it, the red was out of the question for me even though the 8 red is probably the best looking paint color I have ever seen on a car. I waited for quite a while to be able to see the other colors in person. No photo does justice to any of the colors IMO. Mazda did a great job with each of them. I thought the green was just too dark. If it was not in direct full sunlight, it looked like black. In fact, I was driving past the dealer after reading that there was a green in stock and drove right past the first time because I thought it was a black one. The Titanium is gorgeous and I was sorely tempted to get one. When I saw the Blue, however, it was all over. That's the first one I saw in the blue and that's the one I bought!

honestly i regret not having gotten red. there were only 3 choices for me because i wanted the red leather and only tittty grey, red, and black came with red leather.
black - looks absolutly sik..... when clean. i had owned a black car and it was so hard to keep it clean and looking nice
red - looks absolutly amazing. i hesitated getting it because i thought the red paint with red leather might be too much.

No, red car with red and black leather is just perfect. I'm sure some would call it a tarts boudiour, but what the hell, you know what sort of fun you can have in one of those :D I dont think it will be possible to go back to a boring black interior ever again.

FIrst off...... all colours look great on the 8.
At first i wanted Red. But I decided to pick yellow. I couldn't be happier with the yellow. The colour really grew on me, and I think I made the right chioce.
But again .... all colours look awesome on the 8!

I got the red one, the photos don't give it justice, you have to see it in the sun.
However, the colour that I would really have wanted was the mazda white. I have no idea why they decided not to release it in australia.
White really shows the bodywork details, my MX-5 looked timeless in white.
Oh well, at least i have the red/black leather to compensate.
