Comparable Rental my A$$!!
Sorry to rant everyone. Took my car in for the 5000 mile service and recall items. The rental car agency came to pick me up in a Base Toyota Echo!!! Maybe I've become a car snob lately, but for $4 more, they could have gotten me an Altima or Maxima for the day. Still may not be as comparable, but it would at least have kept me happy.
Excuse my anger, I'm just a little frustrated, I'm driving around in a car I can't stand and some stranger mechanic is fondling my car.

Hey man. It is not worth the aggravation. I would have paid the $4 myself and be happy.

It really would be nice if all dealers had a "fleet" of vehicles and gave them out for service customers..problem is insurance regs in some states just don't make this a valid (or profitable) option.
Large dealers with multiple car lines can sometimes lease a grop of cars to themselves and self insure. Most dealers are left with calling a local rental agency and since Mz pays just 26.00 a day sometimes you get crap.
I know when I worked at a Lexes dealership they actually encouraged the dealer to have it's on fleet and even adjusted the cost of the car to counter the local cost's. What better idea than to put you in a brand spanking new Lexes when yours was in the shop for maintenance.
The Sales Dept gets you in a new car for a demo and the service dept charges you 89.00 for a oil and filter change!

I ALWAYS get brand new well-optioned 4-cylinder Mazda 6s. They are not horrible cars, and sip gas and do 100 just fine. I have gotten ones with the works, CD, spoiler, alloy wheels, etc. Must be lucky. Good old Jim Ellis Mazda.

When I got mine in for repairs, I got an 03 altima, with an engine that was as loud as a diesel truck it seemed, and it felt gutless and boatish, dont wish for one as a loaner, most companies with nissan altimas seem to have a lot of trouble with them and they spend more time being fixed than on the raod.

I got a Chevy trailblazer. The guy said I was lucky, this car is $10 over the Mazda price but they were out of the Mazda level cars. I couldn't care less though. The 8 has ruined me against all SUVs Minivans and any other non-responsive non-road feeling vehicle.

I got a Chevy Trailblazer too. It was scary taking curves on that. Not too bad overall as I got a free test drive of a class of vehicles I have never owned and re-affirm to myself why I have no desire to own/rent it.
