I guess I am lucky. Our dealership usually gives me a fully loaded corolla, although it is always auto. I am taking in our Sequioa for running guard repairs soon (got hit in parking lot) and I am hoping to get a manual MR2

You are right. I checked my warranty information. They say transportation, not comparable transportation. I stand corrected and I will no longer bitch about it. At least I got one.

My other vehicle is an Isuzu Rodeo - the dealership is Isuzu Lincoln Mercury (how's that for a combo?) Last time I got a loaner it was a Town Car. You think driving a big unresponsive SUV is bad well, driving a town car is a heck of a lot worse (and they didn't understand why I wasn't thrilled) .

It is scary taking curves in the trailblazer. A lot of body roll and the steering provides no feedback. Together the steering and suspension provide for a floaty ride. I used to own a car based SUV and had never driven a truck based SUV before, the trailblazer reinforced why I never even considered buying a truck based SUV. I would rather drive my wife's Honda Odysee than the blazer.

When I took my 2000 BMW 328i in for service, I got a 2003 330i as a loaner - that was sweet! And back when I had an Audi A4, they gave me an A6.

Now with my 8, I get a well-used Protege. Blah.

At least you people can easily get a car!! Check out our attempted trip to the Orlando Meet! We were stuck almost 5 hours from home, and they wouldn't give us a car!!!

I would have had to wait three weeks for a car so asked a colleague to drive me. Actually, it was 2 weeks before I could even get in for service. My other car can go into its dealer on one days (two max) notice.

How far in advance have most of you had to schedule your service in order to get a rental car???

my dealer provides the loaner, i don't have to go through a rental company.

I just have to do it before 3:30 pm and I can get a loaner on the spot. I usually schedule maintenence a couple days in advance tho.

Look on the bright side, the Scion crowd would be proud of you for driving their cars' father

jk. I know it sucks. I rented a stupid snail sunfire when I had my airbag recall done.

Don't complain....we don't even get rental service from Mazda Taiwan here....."YOU WAIT WHILE WE SERVICE YOU" or "COME BACK LATER".

Hey I get a ride to work. And they pick me up too! We all pile in to a nice MPV and tour around town dropping everyone off. Does it get any nicer than that? If I am lucky I can chose my pick-up time.
