Confirmation # question

A lot of you have received a confirmation email. I ordered on 01/24/03 and have not yet received an email. I did contact the dealer about two weeks ago to verify they had forwarded my email address. It turns out they had not. They claim they forward the email on the same day I made the inquiry.

My question is: When should I start getting worried about not receiving this email? I just want to make sure I'm not getting screwed over some how.

Also, when you pre-ordered, did you have to list alternate color choices? I did and thought it was odd. My first choice was velocity red. They then asked me for two alternates because that is what Mazda wanted them to do.

I got a confirmation number too, but they didn't attach my email address until recently, and I think I ordered about the same day as you.

I haven't gotten any email yet, but they say they have put it on there. Did Mazda send email out to round 2 people?

I will let you know if I get one, I'm still concerned about my dealership trying to pull a fast one.

The confirmation number comes from your dealer.

The email from Mazda went to first rounders the beginning of February. So, I would expect round 2'ers to get theirs the beginning of March (just a guess).

Also, when you pre-ordered, did you have to list alternate color choices? I did and thought it was odd. My first choice was velocity red. They then asked me for two alternates because that is what Mazda wanted them to do.
No, you did not need an alternate color, as they are building the car to your exact specifications. Sounds a little fishy to me. I would suggest going to see your dealer to make sure they are doing what you (the customer) are paying them to do, order YOUR car. I'm assuming you put a deposit down?

I got a copy of the "Vehicle Request Change" web page from my salesperson. This change was done to add my email address to my order. It shows my name, address, etc; the Order Reference Number (12 digits), the Request ID (16 digits), the model - 6M (RX8 6P -RX-8 6 SPPED MANUAL -6M), the "Option Group"-1TR- TOURING PACKAGE M/T, the "Color Combination" - 27A (Velocity Red-F-6 Black (fabric), then Accessories which is blank and I think could only be the navi system. IF you can get a copy of your order it should only show the color you want. There appears to be no place for alternate color. In addition, my change was dates 1/30/02. I just received a response to my email to rx8orders earlier today that says it takes about 30 days before I'll receive an email once my email address was added to my order.
In addition, the dealer's inventory report shows my name attached to my car on the part showing cars on order.

Maybe the service reps that respond to RX8ORDERS email are somewhere on the East Coast. That would explain no response for two days as a lot of people have not been in to work because of the snow. Things are starting to get back to normal (waiting for the two inches of rain we are supposed to get Friday and snow again next week ).

Just a thought, since I have gotten a response within 24 hours to my half dozen or so inquiries. Some within 15 minutes! But I haven't emailed them this week, yet :D

in the past all of their responses to me have been within 24 hrs with the automated response coming within 1/2 hour. that is why i find this so strange. the customer service and e-business folks are all on the west coast. i phoned earlier today as i still had no response by 2:45 pm. they were all in some big meeting so a recording told me to call back after 3:30pm. ( maybe they were getting some new rx-8 info?! i'll try to find out) when i did the person who last responded to my emails had left for the day. the guy who i talked to (jeff) took all of my info and questions and said he would pass them on to the guy who has responded to me in the past. jeff said i should get an email from them tomorrow.
