Confused "Bout to be RX8 member"

I know you guys get this thread all the time. but I want your help.
I've been shopping around for cars, have no clue about this rotary engine machine, but somehow I've gotten into it.

my choice being 350z, s2000 or RX8

buying a used RX8 do you guys recommend 2005 over 2004?
cuz 2004 was the first version of the car.

and with the dealers around me i have a couple i can get 2004/30-45K miles/ $14.5~$16k
But is it "safer" or more legit to buy it from carmax? because they have a couple in store that i like a lil above the regular price.
and if i do should i buy their warrenty? when i can have the mazda 8 year 100,000 mile thing.

finally If i do buy one, can you guys tell me the basic routine you guys go threw to keep your car healthy and maintained.

thank you guys and i hope ill join you guys soon
thanks

You have four posts, each a new thread asking the same questions. Read more, post less.

Read this - https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-faq-9/
And this - https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/8-years-100-000-mi-extended-warranty-147287/

I don't know about carmax. You can search for that, as well as maintenance tips and many other useful topics here - https://www.rx8club.com/search.php

first off wrong section. but Im in good mood so let me put my 0.02 in

try to get 05 over 04.
oil change is pretty important on this car so, please be sure that the car u want to get has proof that the previous owner did change the oil on time (at least every 5K miles or so)

dont buy any warranty, most likely they will deny ur claim based on "enter bullshit here", yes you can fight with them in court, but its a total waste of time.

maintenance ? well, just like any other car. change the oil every 3-5 K depends on what oil u use. use something like at least w30 weight. and try to WOT it to 9k rpm every couple of days. thats all.
