2014 update FGTech Galletto 2 Master EOBD2 best ECU tool
this doesn't actually say what it does, and the spelling, grammar, and incorrect technical references is scary.

So... yeah
I've had this on my screen for a while.
It's clearly a scam of some sort. However it is missing one key thing that any scam should have: A reason to trick people into buying it.
This doesn't make any claims at all. They never define what you actually accomplish with it, what gets changed. Even for a car idiot, they don't provide a reason to purchase this. I can understand (and obviously disagree with) the goal of people that put out scam-boxes to trick people into giving them money for nothing, but I've never seen someone put out a scam-box and never bother to try to convince people to buy it?
Even the reviews, I was expecting to see solid 5 stars on all self-reviews that they faked, however they faked lower than 5 stars? (and yeah, they are all faked, they all follow the same grammar and spelling problems as the product description page)
It's literally just a dump of random seudo-technical details that don't actually mean anything, and are without an application context.
This one is more memorable than most.

Hi,
my grammar is bad because i am Slovak.
I know what the galletto can do thats not a problem.
I need to know which pin is what on Rx8 ECU. If I connect it wrong way it will burn the ecu and the galletto too.
Thats all... If you cant help i ask elsewhere.

I wasn't talking about your grammar, but the grammar on that product page.
I could help, but I am not going to. I am very serious when I tell you to NOT connect that to your ECU. At best, your are being scammed, at worst you will damage the ECU. I wont help you do either.

Dont need to fear i have a friend he is using the galletto many years without problem i would never buy such a thing if i didnt knew what it is.
Second i have a spare ecu for my rx8 on which i am trying to work with galletto.
So if something goes wrong i will do no harm to my car
Could you help me then?
This galletto is tool which can read and rewrite hexadecimal adresses inside ecu.

Has your friend been using it on an RX-8? Because the RX-8's ECU isn't like most other ECUs out there, except perhaps other modern Mazda ECUs.
Why does it need to be wired in at the ECU? Proper reflashing can be done through the OBD2 port with just a cable and OBD2 plug. Zero reason to wire anything.
Why do you need an ignition trigger wire if it's a reflashing tool? Reflashing just loads adjustments to the ECU through the CAN data lines, and it's done with the engine off. It doesn't make any sense that there is a link to the ignition signal.
Who wrote the conversion software for this device to communicate properly with the RX-8's ECU? Every company that has spent the time and money to hack the ECU for proper communication has priced their product 4 to 6 times higher. At that price, either they haven't, or they stole it from Epifan, Cobb, Hymee, etc...
Have they solved the 100 reflash count limitation? Only 2 of the companies that have hacked the ECU have also solved the reflash limitation.
Do they have a recovery option in case the ECU gets bricked? Only 2 of the companies that have hacked the ECU have also added in recovery support.
How is the application software? Do they have all the tables opened correctly? Are the tables labeled correctly?
These are all questions that you need to be asking and need to be able to answer with satisfaction. Otherwise you are playing with fire, using your money and hardware as the kindling.

Maybe Remuron is a rep for Galletto and he is trying to build hype?

I know i am plying with fire but i will not pay thousands of dollars just to hack ecu. I like to do it myself.
Why are you doing things the hard way? Wouldnt it be easier just to give me answer and not to care about what i can do to myslef???

Well there you go, you answered your original question. There is no need to cut into the ECU's wiring harness because it's a universal cable for all cars. The only thing that is universal is the OBD2 port, which is the data line that you need anyway.

OMG you dont understand whole thing...
Nobody is cuting anything .
Just tell me where is + 12 pin, Ground pin and comunication (CAN) pins on ecu.
Here i mean these pins on the picture
Thats still too much. Anyway here in EU nobody chips rx8 because nobody knows how to do it right.

You don't have to pay thousands. The COBB is $500 USD, MazdaEdit is $250 USD.
