So after the coolant flush and everything, now another issue. When im driving on the highway, the coolant light will come on and stay on for a few minutes and then go away, sometimes when I brake or slow down it goes away too. I check the coolant and its fine. Thoughts?

 

coolant level sensor is going bad
replace or just remember to check it once in awhile.

quite common, mine was starting to go bad also

try adding a bit of distilled water in the overflow tank. might cure it temporarily.

 

how much for the part? i cant find it on ebay, just coolant temp sensor, also, should the reservoir be filled to the top?

no, not to the top. there are high and low levels indicated on the side of the overflow tank

 

If it gets near the low level it will light up. Check it when it is cold in the morn. Add enough to get it near the full mark and if it comes on again then you will need a new tank.

 

ohh so I pretty much need a whole new reservoir since I cant but the sensor by itself?

I just overfill mine and that takes care of it.
