Coolest car contest at my school.

What a joke, you're losing by 3 votes. When my friend graduated pre-med and got into UF med school, his parents got him a new GT-R. He knows a lot about many cars and definitely takes care of it.

That's different... this looks like a kid... most likely a freshman since I haven't noticed the car before and I've seen it a lot this semester. No way he's graduated with an undergrad yet. I'm a senior and dont think it'd be a good idea for me to have that car. I'm not saying I would turn down the offer, but I wouldn't understand why someone is giving me a car like that. I guess it's better than a viper or something that would require more active understanding of how to control it.

Well I am going to show my age, but my senior year I drove an 86 Grand National. The only car in school faster than mine was a kid whose day gave him a fully built Olds 442 that ran low 12's.
But then again there were a few kids that drove BMW's, 1 corvette and a bunch of 5.0 mustangs.
The best part about the Grand National is my insurance company just looked at it a Buick with a 6cyl. LOL
So what's status on the contest?

i guess ill find out in 2 weeks when school starts again... we are on winter break right now. but if the kid is actually right/ not lying about the things he said... this may be a close one. but honestly i dont really care about this contest. because like someone posted... kids vote for cars that are fast and riced out.

+1....at my college, there is some kid driving around in an Aston Martin DB9 convertible....I mean...seriously....why??!!??

I can't see how that cobalt could possibly win. It's not even flashy in a ricey kind of way. The only thing even remotely aggressive is the wing.

Is it black? I talked to a young guy at the gym about his Black GT-R and he didn't know **** about it and had it parked right in first slot where it can get nice and dinged up

Jesus christ, dare i ask how old some of you are? im in england and bought mine when i was 18 which a monumental task, trust me. Alot to buy the car, ALOT to insure and alot to run it. i understand that fuel is cheap as dirt over your way and your not taxed on the air you breath like we are in britain. But the fact (as far as im aware) that you learn to drive at 16 and have rx8's whilst your at school?! that would never be possible over here without extremely rich parents :P so to hear about porsches and rx8's being mentioned within a school context :O is a very shocking prospect to us (slightly ignorant :P) brits lol
just my observation :P

Back when I went to High school, my school had a combination of BMW, Mercedes, and a few Porsche's and pretty much everything in between(about 6 years ago). So now im assuming its even more, but never understood why parent would do that.

Same haha, which is why I only put 2gs down on mine, and also the reason I had to get rid of her. But ultimately it ended up for the good, because I went from a automatic driver to learning manual. I'm stoked at how good I am at manual already, because it has been less then 6 months. I've gone from a h22a accord, to a clean *** miata, to a turbo'd volvo. The volvo is probably the best car I've ever owned. I paid $1200 for it, have had no issues, its fast as ****, gets 25mpg highway, its rwd, it handles like its on rails, and its really clean. I mean, the rx8 and the miata are still the best handling cars I've owned, but the volvo definitally can handle its own. It only weighs 3000 pounds.
Next time I get a new car I'm going to buy it straight up, or with substantial down payment, and I will never impulse buy a car again. I plan on getting a rx8 in the near future, but I think I will keep the volvo forever, and also get a cheaper truck. I think the volvo deserves new suspension, big brakes, racing seats, roll cage, exhaust, headers, intake and the boost cranked the **** up. She will be a total beast on the race track.

GT-R's? Mann. There wern't really any nice cars in high school. My first car was a 06' SAAB 2.0T, and that was the car I maintained in HS. I owned it for 3 years until too many things started breaking on it. And at the time I was in a tough spot in my career (or lack thereof) and couldn't afford to maintain it. I had to drive a beat for several months and I just bought my 8.
I have more of the boost controller, DP, etc; I just can't find them right now

Ha. Try going to Baylor or any other big private college I'm sure. GT500s, new M5 vert, new 911 vert, GTR, Supras, M3s (bunches), Maserati Quattroporte, etc. I saw stuff like that on a regular basis. Everyother car was a Mercerdes or BMW. The Maserati had a huge dent in the trunk where someone hit it with a bat .

i've had my 8 since i was 16, it was my first car . my dad bought it for me, completely paid it off. don't worry tho i wasn't and still am not one of those kids that doesn't do **** around the house or work. I'm currently 18, decided to stay at a closer college to help my parents out when needed and also plan on playin Lacrosse for my college. season actually starts in a week or two.
