If anyone has SPEED, look for the Re-run of My Classic Car. Last night I was flipping through and I happened to see Leno talking to that Dennis Gauge guy (the host). So I figured since it was Leno, it would be a good idea to watch, well later on in the show, they get into and go drving around in a 1970 (I think) White Cosmo, just like the one in the pictures. Car looked good. It had a rebuilt 12A with a Weber carb, Leno claimed it made almost 200HP in the current configuration. Car sounded and looked good. He had a couple of facts wrong, like the redline and some other stuff, but he might of had his Shinka on his mind at the time, so it can be excused.
I thought it was cool that he had one and drove it, he even had an original poster hanging above it, which was created from the images in the brochure.
Later they took out his 427 Twin Turbo Oldsmobile Toronado, which would light up the tires any time he got on it, what insanity!

That show is what got me thinking about the Cosmo. I bought my first Rotary RX-2 in 1971 and recall this car on the walls of the dealership. My 8 is my seventh rotary the best yet!

Saw that show too. In a later article, Leno talked about the RX8 as a great tribute to the Cosmo, and it being about time that the Japanese play on heritage like Americans (i.e. Mustang) and Europeans (i.e. Mini) do.
The Cosmo was really ahead of its time.
