Just piping in about flooding. After gotten the plugs and starter engine changed it has been incredibly easy to start. I never managed to flood it before the fixes but had a few close calls. Now afterwards it always works every time no matter how short a stint i drive.
As other people have pointed out: Check the VIN number with Mazda to find out if you have the new plugs and starter. I think (heavy weight on think) that all 05s comes with the upgraded starter.

lol, well 16 mpg isnt too bad for a car like this with its performance so high, i hope [not an owner yet so have no fill up experiances]. like i said, right now i am driving a ford expedition [which i beleive to have like 13-15mpg?] so it slurps slurps gass too. so going from an expo -> rx8 mpg wise shouldnt be a big diff, would you concur?
