Crack in my windshield!!
Hey all, I've got 3,200 miles on my Shinka and I've just noticed a crack (about 2mm long) dead center of my windshield. There is no noticeable chip, just a piece of ever-so-slightly cracked glass! If this wasn't a brand new car, I wouldn't care, but... do you guys think this is something the dealer will warranty? It is more likely than not, NOT a "wear and tear" type of issue, as there is no other mark on the spotless piece of glass except for this tiny crack..

it's probably a rock chip, a reality of drivng. i had a rock paint chip on my door 2nd day of owning the car.
the dealer may offer a windshield repair kit... but not for free. your best bet is to go to a good local glass place and have them seal/repair the crack, if it's only 2cm. it shouldn't cost much and will avoid you replacing the whole windshield.

Repair that stuff FAST!!! I have a crack in my windshield because of a rock chip. I got hit by a rock in the morning and it left a little chip ... when I got back to the car, the chip GREW into an L-shaped crack. This was after 7 or so hours.
My dealer said it wasn't under warranty as it was from a rock. If your windshield started cracking for no apparent reason, then it would be covered.

They (the dealership) will look for any impact mark nearby and deny warrenty. At least that was my experience. The replacement, pittsburg glass IIRC has lasted much longer and is better glass. I think mazda, to keep the entry price as low as it is put in the cheapest glass they could.
