Custom Carbon Fiber Pieces

Gentlemen,

We have recently been introduced to a new carbon fiber factory who can provide us with the necessary resources to begin making custom automotive parts. We have begun using them for certain Porsche parts with some success and are now looking to expand this to the RX-8 market.

Is there a certain piece (exterior/interior/aero) that RX-8 club members would be interested in having made? Perhaps something such as a carbonfiber version of the mazdaspeed wing/bumper or carbonfiber mirrors?

I would need a minimum commitment of 10 pieces in order to go ahead with something. We will maintain full quality control over all pieces and naturally would be checking them before shippment to maintain quality.

Having said that, I open the floor to suggestions.

Cheers.

I think a CF App. Package would be nice.
OEM CF Lower Rear bumper maybe?
or just the CF exhaust sheilds (like the metal ones they have)
CF Wheels... (would be MAD Expensive. and yes, i know its been done)

lets see...... CF eyelids have been made already.......
how about CF center console, replacing the whole silver strip that runs from the front to the back (which I scratched the **** out of this morning putting my snowboard in)

CF Horn (the center of the steering wheel
CF Glove Box

CF Cup holder Insetrs (for people with the 04's that have cup warmers ;P )

i'll think of more :D

CF Rear Pass Through +1
CF Visors (can't believe no one has done these yet)
CF Center Console Side liners (not sure on the exact name but a cheaper priced version of the MazdaSpeed offering $400 is a bit much yanno!)

How about making that top dash panel with a single DIN or double DIN opening? Then have panels made to fit in the opening. Panels could be cut to fit just about any guages the owners could want to install. Or it could be used for a kick-*** stereo/NAV.

CF Mazdaspeed wing is good, I also agree on the CF air dam, side flares, and rear flares.

All CF body panels, painted factory colors, but with the mesh still visible. Think Ferrari F40.

Inside the 8, I'd like to see every piece of silver plastic turned into carbon fiber.

i`m not sure about the fitment and quality, but between The Hook Up Shop and Japan Parts web sites i`ve seen just about everything thats been mentioned in CF.......all the covers for under the hood, guage pillers ,pass piller, ms wings , replcement for the silver plastic center things, ect.
i think the biggest problem is the price of these parts. if its possible for you to make these things a little cheaper and still maintain quality....i think you`ll have alot of interested partys.
with some of the other ideas...cf visors, cf pass through ect. are very good as well. plus you just might be the only one offering these items if you should deside to go that route

with these replicas, it would b nice to have self-installation... so it would not be necessary to have a body shop to install it, making the true cost of your products lower. (Pre-drilled holes)

the gauge pods, either a center mount one, for US cars, or the a-pillar, but with 3 gauge spots, not just two.

the front app. lip would look pretty damn cool too. as would the rear pass through.
