I guess I didn't convey 'adult' as meaning: thinking of all-around fit of the vehicle vs. what your friends think/how fast it will go.
My hubby is in his early thirties as well. Calling him an 'adult'... eh, maybe stretching a bit! ha ha (he reads this forum). But when it comes to asking yourself "why do I want this car", the answer isn't "because it's cool, fast, etc". I think if (at any age) you are more impressed with what others think, and not what you think... then you are a 'young'en'. It is always nice to impress, but I wouldn't think of getting a boxy car just because friends would think it is fast. In my opinion, that is not exercising responsibility. That is 'young' to me :D

:p
Congrats to you and your wife Omicron!
We may have bought 2, but we are in no way rich! Fact is, I'm cheap!! ha ha
I horde money! We only spend money on things that are 'worthy'. And the 8 is DEFINETLY worthy!! YAY

You keep bringing up how this vehicle will strand you... Has it ever actually happened to you?? I have tried to get the vehicle to stall in freezing weather. I start the car and shut it off, come back several hours later with no problems. I have tried this atleast 3 times a week regardless of the weather for about a month now.
I won't deny that it happens.. but it doesn't happen to everyone.

The RX-8 is a GREAT Sports Sedan... Don't get me wrong... Very nice 4'ish door peppy vehicle.
... that gets sh!tty gas milage and randomly strands you from an accidental stall when cold. (So much for refinement)
So...you say the S2000 & 350z don't have the following, and only the RX-8 does eh?? :
Sophisticated feel with light luxury. (My cloth RX-8 isn't nearly as luxurious as my S2000...next..
Fast Touring.- Are you really trying to say the 350z and S2000 aren't "Fast" touring?? Or did you mean "Slower touring than other vehicles of similar price"??
Will put you in the seat for YOU, not for others! - /Shrug.. since when do you buy an S2000 or 350z for others? Its not like they are high-end vehicles...
Just a little space.- Whoo Hoo!! You found something actually factual! Good for you! Hats off
Something to care for and have it love you back. - Thats just a stupid *** statement to make over an inert object.
Conclusion: "Hi, I just bought and RX-8, its the best... look at me!!"
...I own an RX-8 and this thread still annoys me...

Wow! Sounds like amartin isn't very happy with his RX-8. Very funny how Meowloud just points out the immaturity in amartin's response. What's strange to me is how amartin is defending 350Z and S2000 so much when Meowloud is only praising his new car.
I bet he used to cry a lot when his neighbor had a great birthday party when he was a kid. sad
Moving on, great to hear positive posts like this! I'm thinking, maybe it's the color theme of this site that gives such a negative mood to most readers.

Enjoy your rotaries, I am a big fan of two rotary car families! Congrats and one of the great things about the 8 is it appeals to the style and handling concerns of the young (or young at heart) yet it is practical enough to appeal to the adult. For some of us, there is a bit of each inside.
