I bought my '8 as an extra car. I generally drive it to work once a week, and out on weekends.

It is my only car, but usually I'm taking my college Honda Elite 150 scooter to work and on errands near work/home (I live close to work).

Unlike the 8, my Honda scooter gets 60MPG on 87.

sure its not the prettiest car, but its more about function over form. have you ever driven one? its actually quite fun to drive, and it gets around 30mpg on regular gas. school is about 13-14 miles away. its also good for sleeping in between classes

+1, got it for a great price too!

I have two cars but not really any daily driver since I work from home and can get around using the metro.

My winter beater is an automatic 2000 Neon and I take it maybe once a week for groceries and such... It's paid for so I just keep it around. During the summer, I exclusively drive the 8 and my GF has the Neon to herself

I probably put ± 6-7k miles on the Neon per year and 10-11k miles on the 8 (only got it last spring though).

Having that other car makes my RX-8 "the expensive toy that I have no logical reason whatsoever to own" but I'm the kind of guy with a collection of 1/18 diecasts in my office and almost all my video games are car games :P.

Since I got the 8 I plan my summer vacations around the "roadtrip in the 8" theme! Got a nice itinary planned for end of July thru Maine and New Brunswick with a bunch of friends. Can't wait!

Daily driver here, but I only live about 3 miles from work and park in a very empty lot. I had a beater (S13 240SX) to drive when the weather was crappy, but someone stole it on Christmas day! Hasn't turned up yet.

The RX8 is pretty much a daily driver for me, and also my interstate travel ride as well. Man...I have put a boatload of miles (6700)on the car over the past 2-3 months thanks to my repeated 1000 mile treks between MO and NM. I have two garage queens (91 Syclone and 65 corvair corsa convt) sitting in the garage gathering dust. My biggest regret in retrospect is simply not driving the cars enough to really enjoy them.

Once I get back to living/working in MO again on a permanent basis I will start to rotate between the RX8 and my two garage queens to keep the miles down on the RX8 a bit and allow for a little driving variety.

JR

Rx8 for daily driver. For snow, the wifes WRX. But Im thinking of getting a Scion XB as a new daily driver. Just to save gas and have space to carry stuff in.
