Damage Report
Backed my car into a curb last night because I was turning around on a hill and managed to **** myself royally! I took this after I popped out the top part of the exhaust shroud because it was shoved in, and the exhaust shield was also bent in the process but worst of all....my ap tip.

And that is exactly what I have to keep telling myself, the shroud itself is over priced along with the exhaust shield which you can only buy in pairs I'm sure I can get the shrouds from a part out but I hardly ever have luck with part outs. I have to dig deep and buy new exhaust shields and I dunno how I'm gonna get that exhaust tip to straightened out. :/

It's not that bad. I have replaced this fender twice and still manage to mess it up three times. This last one was from parallel parking in front of the new Silverado. Their new rear bumper has a side step that sticks out of the corner and it was below my line of sight when I pulled back into the spot. When I noticed his truck bed move, I knew I did myself a "favor".

No I don't brotha, thankfully I haven't had to go that route looking for people to rebuild (knock on wood) and have gotten away with doing all the maintenance myself except the clutch but I haven't established my connections for a decent rotory mechanic yet for when and if the time comes sorry.

The reason I as is because I met someone and I referred my friend to him. He charges $2k for a rebuild, he will not remove or install the engine, you would have to bring the engine to his house and he lives in Monterey Park.
Just wanted to know if you or your friends have dealt with such person.

Wow funny you say that! You just reminded me that I was referred to a rotory mechanic in Monterey park when I sold my air intake to some guy I met on Craigslist, I saved the number but just didn't really take it serious because everyone claims they can work on a rotory but unless u can get more referrals you can't really trust em you know? Plus I've never really checked the place out. Anyway if his number is 323 821 5085 it's the same guy.

Yeah man, if you can find good word from him, it would be nice. Because I do not want to send my friend to him and he gets stuck with a dead engine. He's not in a hurry, he just knows that his engine is close to the end of it's life. He is more inclined to have it rebuilt than purchase a re-manufactured from the dealer.

My god, how could anyone be that cruel?! I'm so sorry. I had a car keyed about 10 years ago and I still have trouble understanding how a human being could do that. Is this covered by your comprehensive insurance?

This happened in october and yes it did. $50 for a paint job and new tires, almost $7000 worth of work. But a month later i was on deployment and a "friend" was watching my car for me. He decided to wash it when a bird pooped on it. Thought hed use the handy dandy brush at the local self-wash, and bow my $5500 paint job is totally covered in swirl marks of micro scratches, so hes about to pay $300 to get them buffed out by the guys at the mazda repair shop.

Yep, that's the same guy! I bought an OEM hood from him at a great price, the rebuild did not start the conversation until I asked him several questions after the purchase. He has a real job and rebuilds rotary engines(13Bs) by trade at home.
