Dammit, hearing noises from my RX8

K first noise is when I start the car.

It makes like a fast tick tick noise coming from somwhere underneath the car, could be the tranny bt it goes away as the car gets warm.

The second one is new one. Some sort of squeaky noise seems to coming from the dashboard. Didn't get enuff time to look as I am at work bt will take a look later.

Anyone know what these noises could be?

I have sort of a squeaky noise too but it sounds like its coming from the passenger seat. It does it more with music/windows down but doesn't do it if a person is sitting in the other seat. I hear a noise comming from the tranny like your talking about but its not really a fast tick. When I start the car its usually in gear and then I put it in neutral and release the clutch(this only occurs when cold) and the tranny gets ridiculously loud but it does go away after it warms up and only does it on cold idle for me. Is this the same thing you are having?

The engine/tranny noises you two describe are unrelated and both are completely normal. There are threads on each floating around here somewhere. There's also a TSB about squeaking from the dash. Check it out and see if it sounds like what you're experiencing.

unhooked - tick is the air pump. it helps get the cat to operating temp quickly.dash squeak could be anything- and in this car could be coming from behind you even. i had anoise i thought was coming from in front and really it was the plastic rotor shape in the head rest. you'll have to track it down.

t/run- are you sure your squeak happens more with the radio and windows down? most squeaks its just the hearing them that is affected. i suggest you just cant hear it with the radio up. can you hear it id the radio is down but the window is up AND there is a passenger?

your "tick"(hardly a good description considering) is clearly the tranny rollover noise that is normal for this tranny . some are just louder than others. depends on temp how longthe gear oils been in there and what type was used.
