Darnit I wished my car had...
rear power window popouts... I hate reaching behind and opening the rear doors to remove the buffeting I get at higher speeds when the windows are open

Stuck in a love triangle
Ithink the problem w/the rear windows is that youcan barely open them. If they couldopen more theyd probably look betterand actually be useful. I wasthinking of taking it tosome shop to see if anything couldbe done to increase the angle it could be opened to but somethingtells me theres not much that can safely be done.

Been busy
I have found a second car, I just need to save some more money to get it. I'm waiting for my tax returns and hopefully that will pay for the majority of this car (A 91 Miata with some goodies), so I'm just waiting it out

So many roads to ride...
I agree....power would be nice on the rear winders, but I just gotta have them open. The airflow messes up my hair less. The look from outside reminds me of a stealth fighter with those strange angles that can't be picked up by enemy radar. Zooooooooooooom!!!!!
I almost always go with sunroof, rear and regular windows open, except if I'm going far or somewhere in a tuxedo.
Sometimes I feel like batman, James Bond or the car that eats people.....the wraith or some crap like that.
Buurp.

Ultra High Performance All-Season Radials as an option to those who live in a temperate climate such as the mid-west and east.
In addition to those above:
Climate control, it's there just not activated on our US models
Auto up on windows, my wife's Honda CRV has it, it's great
Auto off lights
Aux in on the Bose system
line outs on the Bose system
Wider footwell for us large footed folks (13W)
Affordable options. $75-$95 for front splash guards is ridiculous! Same for $200 side strakes and $240 or more for side aero flairs! I know, just wait a few years...
Aldahyde filter as standard equipment
Just off the top of my head and other threads I read.

While I am quite happy with my RX-8, here is a list of the changes/additions I would love to have on the 8... If you have a solution for any of them, please comment on it...
1. a better sound system.. the Bose upgrade option is mediocre at best. Lacks midrange and bass.
2. less plastic in the interior. While the interior is very nice, in terms of styling, I wish the plastic parts felt more solid. The center tunnel has the silver painted plastic that will eventually wear off over time. I don't mind that they are plastic, but the paint should be more permanent (seeing slight wearing already where the seats rub against the plastic), and that the parts are fixed on more firmly (most plastic panel interior pieces can creak if pressed on).
3. Rear folding seats. The current design is quite limiting to what you can transport. The removable center seat door panel/compartment, while convenient, is quite limiting.
4. Stereo Auxiliary Input
5. Luxury class service . Clear difference in how I'm treated at the dealership between my past experience with luxury cars such BMW and Audi and Mercedes, vs. Mazda. Performance, features, and quality may be comparable, but service isn't, IMHO.
6. Features not offered in US market: Climate Control, and Rear Foglight.
7. Front driver folding seats.
8. Front passenger electric seats.
9. Seat position memory.
10. Side blinkers on mirrors.
11. center compartment lock
12. Headrest pillow inserts (can't really lay down very comfortably when the seats reclined.
13. XM Radio component module.
14. RDS for broadcast radio (Radio Data System)
15. Graduated Audio Level Adjustment - adjusts volume with speed. Current implementation of measuring interior noise sounds like an improvement over GALA, but it's actually a nuisance (useless).
16. Retained accessory power after key is removed from ignition
17. Integrated hands-free mobile phone option
18. Rear coat hanger hook (better than having my leather jacket slide onto the floor all the time.
19. Real-time and average MPG indication
20. NAV: driving direction/distance estimator from two or more selectable waypoints, without having to be the starting point
21. Built in power inverter in center console
22. Remote engine starter

A rear power window would be nice in addition to Squidward's suggestions. The only way to ever get it done is to contact Mazda and creat a demand for it.

I think it would look too cluttered with a rear wiper...(granted I'm not using my car during winter months)....
It just wouldnt look right on our short rear windows.

you know I actaully have gotten used to the digital speedometer.
it was wierd at first but as I got used to the RPM ranges I got used to having a more of a "feel" of how fast I am going.
Kinda odd how with all the digital technology we still long for classic analog devices. (this phenonmenon was pointed out on other forums this week)

...I wish my RX-8 had...
More bass: the "300-watt" Bose system seems to be putting all its power into treble and midrange frequencies at low volume.
Mechanical/analog gauges: all the guages seem to be using buffered digital signals. I think the entire current right side gauge is useless. They should have the digital odometer/tripmeter where the speedometer currently is, and then have an analog water temp and analog oil pressure gauge share the left pod, and have the right pod dedicated to an analog speedometer.
Taller 6th gear: I find myself cruising the highways at about 80mph / 4000rpm. If sixth gear could be made a dedicated "highway" or "overdrive" gear, perhaps freeway mileage would improve.
Reconfigured cup holder position: If I have a drink in the cup holders, my elbow is either resting on top of the drinks or bashing into them whenever I shift. There's probably not many options as to where the cup holders "should" be otherwise, but the current configuration is rather awkward.
Not too much to ask, right? :-D

I wish it had a turbo another 75 H.P. would be nice. memory seating, rear doors that the passenger could open unassisited,I wish the power driver seat would recline a bit more for the seat part, you know, the adujustment that brings your legs higher and your **** lower. For the price of the GT packadge they should throw in the appearence, strakes, spoiler, and rotary accent kits!
