dashboard fan light indicator NOT on

I noticed that when I turned on the fan, the fan light indicator in the dashboard is not on regardless of whether I turn it to 1 or 4. Other indicators (like AC) are ok. Is that true for most of you. Or I have a malfunction fan light indicator.

Just use the skin indicator (sort of like the "butt dyno").

Mine does not work either and when I asked the dealer they said it should. They ordered a new display! They are installing it on Monday while they try to figure out why my gas mileage is so damn crappy. I hop they did not just waste some cash to get the display working After all the should know if it is not supposed to be on.

I think your dealer just blew some cash replacing something because they didn't know enough about the car.

There's no mention in the owners manual about the fan indicator on the display because it's only relevant (as has been said previously in this thread) for the climate control option, which isn't available in the US market.

The bigger question is why the f*ck isn't climate control available here in the states?

I had asked my Dealer Service department about the fan light too. The Service Advisor thought it should work too. He contacted tech support at Mazda North America. They informed him that it was not an option availble for US models. They also said quite a few inquiries have come in regarding this... so they are thinking about issuing a Service Bulletin as an FYI.

Maybe they'll offer the light, and climate control, in next years model?
