Hey folks.
The time for me to get my 8 is getting closer and closer.
I had a quick question though.
I love the 8 but lighting wise im a sucker for blue. I love in the interior dash color that the new VW bug's had. It's a blueish hue.
I was wondering if it would be possible to change the interior red lighting of the 8 and replace it with a similar blue color?
Is it possible, is it affordable?

just turn the headlights on, there is a bluish color on the gauges then.

 

I assume you're talking about all of the buttons and such

i'm sure it's possible, there's probably a bunch of red bulbs back there you'd have to replace. seems like more work than it's worth

 

why would you want to make it look like a vw? Just buy the vw then....

 

Interestingly, the blue lights of the VW are worse for night-time/low-light driving, since the red lights tend to preserve your night vision, and the blue/bright spectrum tends to wreck it. Sure, they look cool, but are a PITA out in the open roads at night in areas without lighting. You have to dim the blues right down to see anything...

 

Ofcourse ... It is possible and affordable - and this is relative from person to person.

 

lol Yes I was talking about the interior console buttons n such in terms of lighting. As far as the other comment goes I dont want to buy a bug cause they are shitty and ugly.
I just want the interior lights (not exterior) to have a similar blue color.
Does any1 know what the actual procedure for changing it is? I mean is it a red bulb? Or fiber optics, or is the lil transparent strip over the buttons colored red with a white bulb behind it?
