dealer offered buy backed rx8s
As some of you know I am trying to get a used rx8. The dealer I am working with just called me with some information about cars they have. They have a sunlight silver, passed on that. She tells me that the GM can get buy back rx8s. She said that they would be classified as lemon law cars. So based on that I turned it down. Was that a good move on my part to pass on the buy back rx8s?

From the sounds of what you said.... seems they are cars that have been damaged most likely by water or god knows whatelse. Stay away from cars like that unless you want your car to have this faint odor of fish hehe.

Thanks for the quick replies! I am glad my gut call was the right call. I am really enjoying this forum! I cant wait to be able to post pictures of my rx8, once I get it of course.

Your call - depends on the dealer, what they offer, and what u can get I guess. They aren't just gonna dump them in a river somewhere.
I bought a buyback, and I guess only time will tell. 2005 Ti Gray Touring w/ 9800 miles. Full "engine assembly replacement". Added 12mo/12k to the warranty and we have a great dealership here in Ga - Sutherlin - that interacts on our website, and a great outside source for info - Mazcare - that sponsers our website.
Have put 1200 miles on mine and have not had an issue. (Well, nothing outside of what every one gripes about- few squeaks from the brakes, random rattles that come and go).
I love my 8, but wouldn't be driving it if I didn't find a 2005 w/ tons of warranty and under 10k miles for 17,800. My budget said 18k - and am willing to take the chance for this car at that price with all that warranty.

For those lemon laws one, I would stay away..any others (with good warranty coverage)..see if the dealer will let you try it out for a week (great way to test mileage on the 8 since it varies so much): Nissan let me try it, so I see no reason why Mazda can't do the same...
