Dealer_discrepancies
Has anyone ever had a dispute with the Mazda dealership concerning what is covered under warranty (more specifically condensation in drivers tail light)? If a dealership decides that it is not covered, is their word the final say so? Is there anything else I can do or anybody I can talk to?
Thanks

if a dealer gives you crap - and you KNOW you are right (tail light condensation IS covered) call their bluff. Casually mention that if you don't feel like fixing a warrenty issue you will give a rather unfriendly call to Mazda North American offices.
If you dont feel like doing that you can always go to another dealer - they are NOT the final word on anything.

IF they try that crap, like. Say, you get an intake, and they tell you your warranty is void. Go print out the magnusson act and take the aftermarket section of it and shove it under the service manager's nose. That's what I did, worked pretty well too

Or get the attention of Zoom or a few of our fellow members haha. The condensation is covered since its a known defect. Just go to another dealership if anything else while telling the other dealership "Your loss lata". For me I mentioned my condenstation the rep said "when do you wanna come in to have them replaced". Nothing mentioned about "this will cost you....".

I noticed condesation in my driver's side tail light on Saturday. Called the dealer that morning and they said as long as the car is still under warranty it's covered. They've ordered the part and are going to call me when it comes in.

I replaced my rear tail light 3 times (2 for the left and once for the left)
YEs its covered UNLESS its clearly your own fault (say you park and you bump into something and theres a obvious crack on the outside of the tail light.)
IF they give you ****, go to another dealer

Hi, your friendly service manager from Valley Mazda here! The tail lamp issue is covered under warranty. As for being the last say on everything? I dont know about other dealers, but I am.....

I can't say as I've ever had dealer issues cept from when they DENIED me a test drive of an 8 saying something along the lines of "If you can't buy it you can't drive it" stating it was "company policy not dealer policy". Ya huh, and I got some land on the moon to sell to em too. Needless to say they won't be getting any of my business.

Lone wolf same thing happened to me.....came in to buy the 8 said I would pay cash...dealership laughed at me so I said F*#@ you and walked out...went to another one a little way's away...found the one I was looking for wasn't at the first dealership....pulled in flipped them off then peeled out ....
