Great, just talked to them now.
He said he is going to get back to me tomorrow afternoon with a price.

He is guessing around $30,000.

Does that sound about right for all the options?
If so, I'd rather go used. I wand to be under $26k.

What do you suggest?

I'm in the same boat. To be honest, with so many stupid good deals floating around on '04's with barely 20k miles I'm having a real difficult time justifying the extra money for a new one.

If you're the type who likes upgrades that $10k-$15k is more than enough to pay for a turbo kit and some nice suspension pieces.

Fortunately for me, I'm looking for a red one, with red/black interior. Seems to be really easy to find. For me nav is a bonus, but I need one with the aero package. Although I suppose if I get a good enough deal I can buy that and have it installed separately.

Per my initial post I am the new owner of a red 8. My initial choice was silver, however, the only dealer in a 100 mile radius was being unreasonable on the pricing (didn't want to move off of MSRP because there is a $2,500 rebate). I defaulted to the red color & ended up getting a loaded GT w/Nav (MSRP of $35,500) for $31,250 - the $2,500 rebate - by far the best deal I could negotiate with any of the dealers who had loaded red 8's.

At any rate, being diligent, flexible and leveraging the heck out of internet quotes save me a bunch of time and (I think) $$$

Good luck -

$6K off a new 2005 is typical. The best I have ever heard of is $8K off new (GT MT out the door for $24). Figure the Casey Mazda has $2,100 of crap you don't want on the car. So, if you found a car that was just a VR/red-black, GT/MT with NAV it would list for $33,750 and $6K off would get you down to $27,750. Still a little high but if you get lucky and get $8K off it would fit.

I would still be on the lookout for a used VR/red-black, GT/MT with NAV in the low $20s.

I would love to find a used one and save some money, but its just hard to come by with the two toned interior AND Nav.

I'll take Silver or Red, it just needs to be manual.

when I used autotrader its tough to find cars with two toned interior and Nav. But if I use cars.com I can put in a keyword Nav, and its 10 times easier.

I found a few on cars.com I am going to call on. I found a LOT more red with red and black interior than Silver...
