Dealership problems

So I recently went to Open Road Mazda-Lincoln-Mercury in East Brunswick...I asked them to take a look at my tranny after they were done with the oil change...they said they wouldn't touch a thing because of the rp short shifter...i just laughed in their face but could not find a way to force them to check it out regardless...what should i do? call mazdausa...switch back to my old shifter and have them check it out...or should i just try a different dealer??
