Definetly getting one!

I think I got a good deal on ebay 2005 RX-8 Black Grand Touring for $19.5k with less then 19000 miles and 31 months remaining on the warranty! It was $4k less then Blue book value for 3rd party resale. I already locked in the price and will be paying and picking it up next weekend.

its a manual. sorry no link I don't want anyone to see it and then email the guy offering him a few hundred more and buy it out from under me and the worse I can do is give him a negative rep. Not suggesting you'd do that NoTears but you never know who else is reading this thread. heres a few pics though

The only reason I asked for a link is because there are a lot of scams on eBay, there is one that a few of us have been laughing about in the lounge the last couple days. Well, good luck.

You mean I don't have 280 HP?

Enjoy your new ride when you get it.

Sweeeet.

I would have preferred black and then had the rims powdercoated gold, and had the Chrome plastic emblems cast in brass - polished with clear overcoat. Black & gold has always been my favorite colors.

Enjoy it.

Considering the current owner could have paid as little as 22k for the car new you got a pretty average deal. When it comes to RX-8 values you can pretty much ignore KBB. Regardless, greats on the new purchase and enjoy it.

well slight problem I'm still getting it but not this weekend. The owner still has a lien against the car and theres no way I was going to go down there pay him the money and have to wait for him to send me the letter from the bank that the lien was satisfied, I mean theres nothing to stop him from just taking the money and running and leaving me stuck with either paying it off myself or getting my car repo'd. So he agreed to pay it off but not until he gets his paycheck next week guess he gets paid every 2 weeks. Seems trustworthy though and I have his address his cell# and his wife's cell# so it should all work out just wish I didn't have to wait 2-3 more weeks.

Perhaps RX-8s are a bit more expensive in Jersey I've been hard pressed to find 04 RX-8s for under $19k. And the 04 I almost purchased this weekend was $20k. Thing I love is that this car still has 31 months/ 31k miles left on the bumper 2 bumper warranty.

I had the flood problem, and now major rattles and clicks in the dash.

It seems like anything can go wrong at any second.

RX8's are for people that can afford one just for fun, and one for work. And don't mind all the warranty issues.

I wish I would have kept my GTS, way more reliable.

Jason - look up encorez's posts. He's had way more problems than anyone else. Not typical, but he's been through the mill.

Probably worthwhile to browse all of the "I love my 8" and "I hate my 8" threads, just to turn yourself into a basket case.

FWIW, I love my 8. Only 6000 miles sor far, so I can't comment on longevity. But my gas mileage is within the expected range, nothing squeaks or has fallen off, gearbox shifts like butter, all the controls work, starts right up, etc.

And the dealer didn't scratch it when I brought it in for its oil change and 4206F recall. Even ran exactly the same after the recall as before.

Did you do a Carfax on your incoming 8?

Ken

True, but RX8's aren't for everyone. I miss my new 1988 rx7 turbo. I wish I would have keep it, but at $20,000 in 1989 was allot of cash.
