Details I can confirm
Just sat in the car at my dealer. It's the first time I've had a chance to sit in one since I sat in the pre-production one in December. So I can answer some questions:
* The only cigarette lighter is behind the flap in front of the gear-stick. I looked in the centre bins but the one there must have been pre-production only.
* The DVD player is located in the rear centre bin under the pass through hatch.
* The interior is generally of good quality. The sunglass holder above the rear-view mirror and the pass through hatch though stand out as cheap lightweight plastic. On the whole it's very good though.
* There is a huge amount of headroom so I think everyone should fit. I'm 6ft and there was plenty of room even with the sunroof.
* As people pointed out on another thread. The radiator is very low, with some kind of coolers by the spotlights too. Anyone who has a lot of stones on the road could have problems in this area but for Tokyo it's fine.
* Trunk space seemed fine - the opening isn't huge so you may have to buy new bags but a lot will probably fit in once it's through the hole.
* Operated the clutch and gears without noticing any intrusion in the footwell although forgot to look specifically for it.
* Gear change was much better than pre-production. Not as tight as a Miata or S2000 but pretty close. Certainly no problem. Clutch is light.
* There is an RX8 logo on the sills.
* Stance looked good. Not excessively wide but low...obviously lower than a 6.
Couldn't check anything else, like the stereo or instruments, as there was no key.
There were absolutely no options on it - it just had the stock radio. So I think this explains why it was at the dealer before I get mine. Mine is someplace having the 6CD and everything fitted. I get more news on Wednesday.
I got my registration documents so there are some other things to confirm:
* Chassis code is definitely SE3P. What looks like my VIN is this plus 6 digits.
* Weights are quoted as 1330kg and 1550kg (I assume unladen and laden). These are the government figures remember so I don't know how they decide/measure them.
* Distribution is 690kg on front axle and 640kg on rear. Before people cry that this isn't 50/50 remember the front axle is really far forward and most of us weigh more than the 50kg difference.
* Dimensions: length 443cm; width 177cm; height 134cm
There are a few other numbers on the paper but I can't make any sense of them. One thing says LA-SE3P & another 13B if these mean anything to people.

* 1518 / 1408 front/rear distribution equals 52/48 % and I agree that this will be closer to 50/50 with driver
