Details needed for Writer
I'm planning on doing a quick article on this car for the school newspaper, and some quick stats would be much appreciated.
The one thing I could not find easily was the release date/month/or season. Anyone able to fill that in?
If you want to throw in some extraneous information thats fine. Just reply!

Release date Spring 2003
Month? Guesstimate April/May (nothing solid yet).
Did you find all the other data you need?
Post your article here before you submit it for publication, and we'll be glad to check it for mistakes!

Check the rest of the threads on this forum, and you should be able to decide for yourself which information is pretty reliable, and which is merely speculation.

Well, sorry to make you "scour the page" but directly underneath your original post, I answered your only specific question.
You:
Me:
If you have any other specific questions that you can't find by a simple search, let us know, but we aren't going to regurgitate everything we know about the car.
Edit - I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything, but if you plan to go into journalism, you should realize that the profession is 95% research, 5% writing.

i fight this attitude every day. people that won't figure things out or find information on there own, they just want someone to tell them or do their work for them. no offense mfivis, post your questions and myself and others will answer them if we can.

my fault
It's my fault, I completely didn't see the post directly after my original one. The email reply notice i got skipped to the third one about getting inundated by many answers. Sorry again. And yes, that first reply did help

Here is my little auto blurb
no editing allowed, just complements
I already sent it in:
<two photos on the header, one of a frontal 45º of the Rx-8, the other is a rear and above 45º with all four doors open>
With the comeback of the highly efficient rotary engine, and the debut of suicide doors (rear-hinged doors), Mazda plans to make a splash in 2003 with the Spring release of its all-new Rx-8.
Unlike its predecessor, the Rx-7, which was discontinued in 1995, the Rx-8 will comfortably seat 4 people rather than 2. Rear-wheel drive, four-wheel independent suspension, and a lengthy 106-inch wheelbase all contribute to the fine handling and near 50/50 weight balance.
The ultra-light 1.3-liter rotary engine that outputs approximately 250hp and 160 ft-lbs of torque will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. All of this excitement will step you back about 26 to 30 thousand big ones.
