Smile Did i get a good deal?

Just curious, i just bought a 2004 RX-8 with only 28,000 miles on it for 18,995. Did i get a good deal? Also the 2004's in general, are they pretty good???
Thanks!

No, I have seen them go for less and the 04's had a lot of problems. I would have never bought an 04. I have seen 05 GT's go for that much. Not trying to make you feel bad for buying an 04 but read the posts on here and you will see what I mean. If it makes you feel any better they did come up with a lot of fixes.

Naw, You paid too much. Later you will complain that your car lost so much value when you try to sell it years later.
You should have done your asking before you bought the car, not after.
either way,
welcome to the club, enjoy the ride.

If it's a GT model with navi, then not so wonderful of a deal; then again if it stickered in the 33K neighborhood the miles are low, so even if you keep it 2 years and try to sell then you still wouldn't have taken the depreciation hit that the original owner took. If it's a base model with auto then....well, nevermind.

What's done is done. Enjoy the car. It's one of the best out there in that price range, by far.

Hey I just bought my 04 a month ago. It had 7,300 miles with leather and the grand touring package. I think it was worth the 18,200 I paid for it. Plus it was mint without a scratch on it. Finally, it came with some goodies, RB exhaust, intake and the computer was flashed.

See my responses in the link posted above. Well, I'll copy the link.

Just enjoy the car, nothing you can do about it now so no reason to worry about it.

Anyway, i texted him and he said i could return it, i still have my 4 Runner, so i havent really "Lost" anything...
I love the car and how it looks, but wasnt aware of all the problems....

No, they're not ****. Just the first model year, usual first year teething issues.

Seems like the problem is just that you paid more than they're going for. Rather than returning it, will your friend re-negotiate the price?

I have an 04 with 30k miles. no problems. their are lemons like with any other cars out there (more so than other model years), because it was the first production year. Like others have mentioned. there are fixes for it (reflashing and such).

Smells like a troll or dumb blonde 16 year old to me...

I wouldn't pay more than 14.5 for a 04 with 28K miles

My 07 brand new was about 3g's more than what you paid for your 04.

And in general, a lot of 04's have problems.. But that's just what I hear?

Yeah you start somewhere with a search, there are more threads on the forum (including one dedicated to purchase price research) than useless boltons in your sig about market value. Also KBB, edmunds, NADA etc etc etc. The whole thing seems like a joke to me.

Alot Of negativity

Well,

I looked up the Kelly blue book value. It came up at 24,400 for what i described to you guys as being "Mint." I mean the car never saw rain or snow and only has 7300 miles. I have been dealing with rotaries for the last 9 years. I finally had to put a rebuild in my 7 a year ago. So im pretty knowledgable. Also that included with the RX8 purchase is the 5 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. So, if any of the recalls or gremlins come out. I have more than enough time to sort them out. Remember, it's not always the cars fault. Most of the time its the drivers fault.
