Mica is not a color but it is a ground stone-like substance which creates very durable finishes. Its one admirable characteristic is that it gives off a pearlescent sheen and when used with various colors, creates an aura glow per se in light. The RX 8 red is beautiful with a gold aura. The only known disavantage to mica paint is that it chips easily. The durability is especially nice with red since plain red paint is one of the fastest faders - not in mica though.

Yes to all of the previous posts.
I've always wanted a red car that I really like. This is it. I am totally pleased beyond belief about this red. I love the different moods it gives off in different light conditions. As hard as I try, there isn't a thing about this red that I am not totally pleased with. It's perfect. I love it.
Mica is a rock, much like slate, except it's not black, it's almost white. It splits into paper-thick sheets and is very crumbly. It lets light pass through when very thin. That's what's in this and Nordic Green. It's in very very small pieces and gives off a subdued metalflake-like sparkle, very very finely textured and never over-done.
This sparkling totally disappears when its not being directly shined upon by a light source, like the sun or parking lot / street lights. You can't see the mica sparkling at all, no matter how hard you try. This is totally cool & gives it another look, or mood.

Only one word of warning about the Red. At night under low-pressure sodium street lights (kinda the orangish glow street lights) makes your Red look like a horrid mucus brown. Just don't try to show off the car under these conditions!
