Discovered in my recent Jap Mag reading - non-repost NOT guaranteed
I have done a lot of reading on the 8 today ... since I have been to Kinokuniya and got a lot of magazine... I discovered 3 things: They are big
People who thinks they are not repost then I will scan the pages' pics and post up in the relevant sections... I am away today interstate and no access to a scanner.
There is a DVD in the RevSpeed Mag... has not watched it yet, but if the RX-8 is featured in any of the run. You will expect that I will rip it.
Cheers

- Fujita Engineering *(FEED) has gone tubro (250hp atw) - They have added a TRUST T618Z and ran around the Fuji Speedway in 2'09.38. That is slower than a DC5! (ref: RevSpeed No.175 p.44). N/A RX-8 is the slowest among the tuned cars
- Tein is bring out their SuperRacing suspension for RX-8. It is going to be hardcore and damper and rebound adjustable. You are going to need 2 EDFC to do that. (ref: RevSpeed No. 175 p.146)
- MazdaSpeed is developing a new caliper for SE3P (ref: RX-8 fun book)
- R Magic claimed that dry foam type Pipercross replacement filter gain 5hp!@!! (that is the biggest lie of the year). (ref: RX-8 fun book)

We lived in Tokyo in the early 70s and shoped at Kinokuniya. They carried Road & Track, Hot Rod and Motor Trend. I don't think there were any Japanese car magazines then.
I remember renting a small Matsuda sedan with a NSU licenced rotary engine- I think that became the Mazda R1 a few years later. Dave

FEED is now very very active with their rotary in Japan. They are making statement with their 7 and much more willing to display their 8 on the public.
They are only able to tune their Turbo 8 to 250whp. I am sure they will do better later on.
Dave I shopped in Kinokuniya in Sydney. They have all the car mag you can find in Japan.

Or I think FEED was trying very hard not to go turbo, but you have to see what they are invited too.
The new Fuji speedway is still a very fast circuit. However in the 1.5km straight they can only do 200kmh. I read somewhere else that they have oil temp problem all day long but they have the big *** GReddy/Trust intercooler and their additional oil cooler. I think it is still a too hot of a car in June in Japan

Fuji speedway is a very fast track that definitely doesn't give the RX-8 an advantage against other cars. That's a bad track for the RX-8.
You don't have to agree with my opinion on header designs. The fact that we still haven't seen one that does anything useful is pretty good evidence for my position though. I will admit that alot of problems lie in the exhaust ports of the engine itself.
