Question Do you look back and stare?

I thought I was weird when I does this..until I saw someone do it too:

8 owner gets out of his car. Then, he locks it. Next walks about six to eight feet away. Then LOOKS BACK, STARES AND ADMIRES THE BEAUTY OF HIS RX-8.

I do this all the time. I had a BIG :D on my face when I saw him do it too. Anyone else do a routine double take on their own 8?

After over 6 months of ownership, I still do both. Look back to see it parked and open my garage door to gaze at it. Of course nothing beats driving it.

Oh yeah! I try not to look back again, but I'll always catch its reflection on some windows or door glass. I occassionally take a peek at it from my apartment's window too. Wonder how long this is going to last?

Often. But I've been doing this with my cars for some time. It's when I stop doing it that I know it's time to get something new!

Every Day! The only other vehicle I've owned that got even CLOSE to the 8s attention level is my rebuilt CJ-5, but the 8 wins hands down. Actually after too many Guinness' (Guinni) last night, I went to the garage just to see if she was ok!

WHealy has the right attitude. I do it with the 8 and the FD. I used to do it with my 944 and my 280ZX turbo. Hopefully for the rest of my days either my wife or myself will be able to be driving a car worthy of the backwards glance.

Hee Hee! I do it at leat three times a day. Its like pinching yourself to make sure your not dreaming. I go down to in the arage at least twice a nite just to do a lovingly walk around to revel in the beautiful lines of the car!

I have to catch myself from doing it lest everyone think I'm conceited. Although the urge is strong . . . too strong sometimes!

I look back to admire occasionally. But most of the time, it's to make sure I parked alright, not too close to another car. I'll even keep note of a car I'm parked by (if i've got no choice but to park by another), and sometimes get their plates in case I find a ding when I return. I even look back and around to see if anybody's around noticing the car. Shoot, what can I say? I'm one paranoid ****. Owning the 8's done this to me.

BTW, the thing about getting plates, I've actually only done once b/c I parked in full lot next to a 2 door in some tight spot. I know it's not a trusty sytem, b/c a ding could have been done by another car that parked after they left or whatever. But just shows how crazy I am to ensure nothing happens to my baby.
