Do you need the 4 seats?

Well, one of the reasons I really liked this car was the backseat, although the only thing I have used it for was to put a stuffed bunny in, basically. Once or twice I've put stuff back there on the seat because it was too difficult to maneuver it into the trunk (spare tire) and it had to go somewhere. I have never had people ride back there but I liked the idea that if I had kids I wouldn't have to go get a new car to haul them around. Basically, it's nice to have the extra room in case I need it.

I relocated with a brand new RX8, during the break-in period, making one 1800 mile trip to my destination. I think I was carrying at least 300 pounds with me.
If the RX8 had two seats only, I would probably do the same thing, just have to throw away my belongings.

I had 2 good trips in the last month. First was wife and I doin' 3 days in southern CO before the snow came. Plenty of room for our stuff and lots of twisties.
1 week before that, me, wife and cousin loaded up in the 8 for a weekend hunting trip. The good news is that my sister lives on the land we were hunting so no sleeping gear was needed. Anyway, we packed all our stuff in the car, with room to take a 30 pack of beer and a cooler of food/drinks. Then on the return trip the cooler was full of meat and the beer space was taken up by a cat carrier. We used every nook, but did it. And yes, I have the spare tire....
Use the backseat daily for the laptop, but could do without it on a day to day basis. But I would ask, what good is a roadster where you can't put in enough gear to really hit the road?
All in all, great, flexible car. I love it.
