Do you still get excited when you drive your 8?
i have test driven an 8 three times. Each time it's been a short, but FUN, drive. Most were 10 minutes or so, one of them was extended, maybe 20 minutes or so. Each time I have driven it I think to myself that it's one of the most fun cars I've driven, but I also keep wondering why do I like a car so much, even though I know it's kind of slow...
the 8 is not a slug - but it's not a rocket sled either. it's quick enough to make it fun, but I wonder if after the novelty of the cool handling wears off if I'd get sick of the lack of torque...
any of you find the car got boring in a short period of time? or are most of you still happy with it?
basically - do you still find it as fun to drive after X months/years as you did the first time you test drove it??

I've had my '07 for 10 months and it still gets my blood pumping every time I get in.
YMMV, but I'm still the Mazda poster-boy.

I feel boring in any other cars.
Last week when I was driving my brother's Altima SE-R, I almost felt asleep.
So tell me, do I feel excited when I drive my 8 ? This is from a person who has own the same car for the past 2 1/2 years.
And Rx-8 aint slow, its faster than most cars on the streets. but this car you have to know how to drive it properly to go fast.

after 3 years and 70,000 miles, i still get excited when i drive my 8
i see myself driving to at least 200,000 miles in this car, it is such a perfect fit for me, for what i want in a car.

the 8 is slow if all you wanna do is step on the gas pedal and hold on for dear life. Even so, it holds its on amongst most cars on the street.
When hustling down any curves or my on ramps, it leaves cars boasting double the hp. that is why its so devastatingly fun.

My car brings a smile to my face as soon as I see it each morning. I have owned it for a couple years now, and I still enjoy it as much as the day I bought it.
Mine is a daily driver, so I commute in it every day. Yet it has not lost its 'fun factor'.
It is a blessing to have a hobby that you can enjoy so much and so regularly

Driving in really congested traffic is no fun. At times driving the 8 becomes a bore when I cant safely rev past 6k..
But when I'm first at a red light with some open curvy road ahead of me, or when I'm on a long bendy road flying into corners at 8k it's immensely exhilarating. It doesn't get old, just more dangerous as you push and push towards the cars limits.
Eventually you learn the point of understeer, where the power band is, the feel of the clutch and the cars weight and suspension, and once this happens you are one with the 8.
