Do you still get excited when you drive your 8?
#51
Seriously.. FML..
Yea.. After a year.. I still look back whenever I park; and at home I always tend to look outside or if parked inside, I have to see my 8 for some reason..
I also pose sometimes when I'm parked at school.. And I always think I have the fastest car in what ever road.. And cops suck.
And yes, I get excited when I turn on the car..

Yeah..I still love mine and the people at work laugh at me all the time because they come by and catch me looking out the window at it...both of my children are jealous of it..they think I love it, more than them..

6mths, 8000km, feel the same as most of the guys here...the parking-lot-lookback, the sudden willingness to drive to work, the new addiction to tyre-chirping turns, indiscriminate redlining, etc..
But I suddenly drive real carefully with my wife and kiddo in the car.. the 3 things on earth I love the most in one spot! :

I had a fun little mr2 turbo before i got my 8. I loved it as much as these guys love their 8's. I missed the torque but all the little things from the 8 started adding up. The other night a turbo civic from out of state was messing with me on the highway and I was actually surprised that I left him. *I was not racing him, just trying to get my space cushion and enjoy the drive home.* This 8 has long legs. I love my 8 like a second wife.

Same goes with me after 3.5 years and 72000 km. When I open the door and start the engine I still have the 1st day-new car feeling and I love that.
I am planning to keep it with me for many years and make it a Classic.
Boring? that word does not exist in the RX8 dictionary.
Cheers

After 14months of ownership I still love to drive the car. My previous unit was an M3 and, yeah, I miss the torque but this car talks to me.......every morning she says 'come-on, get in, put your hands on me, and DRIVE me'!!

turbo it. I drove my friend's 2005 M3 back to back with my car and the torque is similar.

Ive had my 8 for about 7 months and i still get excited everytime i see it. I also do the look back when i walk away from my car. The only thing that bothers me is parking my car at the mall or somewhere where there are a lot of cars. I have a phobia about people opening their doors and hitting my side. The best part about this car is that its unique and when u drive past a crowd of people no one is looking at that 350z or s2000 that just past. They are looking at you. Caution, this car breaks necks.

i just got my '05 and it is "slow" comparing it to the 335i, and doesn't have the torque that the 350Z had, but this car is a lot of fun. I only get to drive like 3 days out of the week or so, but its been fun getting in there and having fun in some turns!

I hadn't driven my car since Monday. I immediately went out and hopped in when I got home from work today even though it was still basically rush hour and I drove around brooklyn for an hour and a half or so.
This car is so fun the weekly stress just melts away :D
The funny thing was that when I got my car from the garage even the garage attendant couldn't shut up about how much he liked the car. "Even the parking brake is soooo coooool".

Uhh...yeah it is my one true vice, I rarely drive my other cars since I bought it a year ago.
Still fun, especially the on the long curved on ramps and up and down the valleys.
