Do your 8 and wallet a BIG favor.

This thread has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum, but it bears repeating with emphasis.

Given recent developments at Mazda regarding the motor recall, it would behoove all 8 owners to heed the advice that Mazda has said for years. Do not use synthetic oil.

There are many so-called experts on this sight that will swear up and down that synthetics are perfectly ok. Some are not even 8 owners. I think many new owners are being swayed by these statements that sythnetics are perfectly ok. You all know who your are. These vocal experts should issue a caveat because many new owners may hurt their cars as a result.

To the actual 8 owners: Don't be a lemming or an ostrich. You don't have to use synthetic because others do with "no troubles." And take your head outta the sand when you read and heed the attached.

This thread was not started to discuss the merits of synthetic oil. They have them, just not in a rotary engine. In closing, I'll just say this:

There is mounting evidence that using synthetic oil in a rotary engine IS DAMAGING.

Sigh...both Mazda Motorsports and Racing Beat recommend/use synthetic and Royal Purple, respectively. Last time I checked, both know what they are talking about and have great reputations...

Further, anyone would be a lemming by reading your post and taking it as gospel. People should make their decision and use whatever brand/type of oil they are comfortable with after doing their own research. And if/when a problem occurs, then they have no one else to blame.
